Given how time consuming wiring up gauges properly is, very cool option.

"We've given the gauges power and ground"
Hardly wireless then.
Do you think you could just have the gauges show up on your phone or iPad, then you don't need any??

Yes there is - its called Torque
I have an $8 bluetooth dongle and they show on my phone - does code reading and clearing too.

But this is a different kind of product - very customizable, pretty cool!

Do you need data to use the Torque app?

No you don't Stephen. Dongle plugged into your OBDII connects with your device via Bluetooth.

^ Exactly that.
Great use for an old phone / tablet stuffed away in a drawer
