Hello TMC,

I got a little surprise when I went to book our annual karting event at the 401 Mini-Indy. There has been a substantial price increase. For the last few years we paid $25.00 for two 20-lap segments, the price this year is $37.95 for a 20 lap race (if you get lapped, your total number of laps will be less). With that said, I'm turning to you, the TMC members, to get your opinion on the situation or to see if you have any in's at the other indoor karting tracks.

Thanks
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
When you mentioned you were looking I looked at one in Brampton, but it’s walk in price not sure how it works but they have group rates based on number attending?
Here is walk in

$22 for 15 laps
$33 for 30 laps
$44 for 40 laps

Here is for group if we have some idea with head count
Book a group of 7 or more drivers for starting at $70.30 + tax, per person.
Race for three 20 lap sessions or two 30 lap races.
Groups include a race director and private track use.
I guess that price is 7 drivers???

Formula trackways? I’ve never been there

Maybe it’s time we ditch the winter event and make a summer event at Goodwood?

That said, I’m still in for the $38 / 40.

I was going to be in for this but that’s a steep increase. Probably still in if it’s a go.

Hello TMC,

We have some good news and bad news.

Bad news:

We regret to announce that as of right now we will not be running the indoor karting event this season. Due to the increased costs and dwindling numbers the last few years, we have decided to cancel this event.

Good news:

We are going to organize an outdoor karting even for sometime in the summer at either Goodwood, CTMP, or another outdoor track that has an arrive and drive program. This event will have a limited number of openings and will require a non-refundable payment to reserve your spot. Stay tuned.

3-S Go-Karts in Georgina is a nice track and they have the faster Karts you need to wear a race suit to ride.

Not there. My home track during those days was Hamilton Kart Club. My dad still does the arrive and drive there, he could talk to them and see.
