Hunt for that perfect country property came to a fork in the road ...had our hearts set on 4acre property and were about to put an offer in but my mrs started googling shiat and found some concerning info regarding the area. So we stopped into Municipal offices and they redirected us to the Nottawasaga Ministry of Conservation ....turns out 2/4 acres are protected wetlands and at risk of flooding and erosion based on their model of what can happen if we get another Hurricane Hazel. The old agent told us to walk away and I thought he was just being rude but maybe he was doing us a favour . Are we being overly cautious ?

Those wetlands ya , but the flooding & erosion risk mapping scared me big time . Can't believe they let him build this in 91 and now they can create a mapping system and tank his property value .Well not into rebuilding a culvert to a bridge so the little fishy can pass safely under it

I'm in Bowmanville a little further north than Larry. If your worried about the commute. Here's the facts.

My current job is at College and University. I was in my car at 2:50pm. I pulled in my Driveway at 4:20pm. This was a normal traffic day. No accidents or anything. Friday traffic is usually 30min longer. Long weekend traffic usually takes 2.5-3hrs to get home.

BUT...

If you can adjust you working hours the commute can improve. It only takes 45min to get to work in the morning.

Where do you work?

I lived in an apartment near victoria street. The bus was terrible, how the fuck can you smell like pit at 6/7 am? Canada does a shitty job at educating new immigrants on the fact that we have running hot water, and showers are necessary in western culture. I think I was the only one that used a shower in the morning on that bus route. Plus it took 2 hours to get to union all said and done, 20 minutes by car. lol So I drove after taking the bus/subway for a week.

Today for the first time I blocked someone from my Facebook. I always try to accept the opinions of others but when. Someone passes on a post just seconds after 11. On this day of honour and remembrance. That basically states our veterans died for nothing and likens our governments to those of hitler and such. I draw a very firm line. This is the kind of stuff that reinforces what I fight hard for my beliefs and why I fear so deeply for my children's generations. Shame on you for such a level of ignorance and lack of knowledge and shame on us as a society for buying into these idiotic ideals. If only these people could ever truly understand why so many volunteered to fight.

This person is so lucky this was a Facebook post and not something they said to my face or think I'd be up on assault charges.

Pretty cool grocery getter for a couple of DINKs. I'd take one if I didn't need the backseat for kids and the space for a stroller and a hockey bag.

http://cdn.geekandhype.com/uploads/2012/04/range-rover-evoque-victoria-beckham-1.jpg

yup....great dinkmobile

it's small, ample power, AWD, great stance, good ride height...and practical for what 2 adults typically haul

the fit, finish and material quality should be off the charts......and it's a very capable machine in conditions that it will likely never see....so it'll handle the odd snow dump pretty easy

add the vert option and IMO you'll get a bunch of well-to-do dinks who wanted a Jeep CJ back in the day to cruise the streets and they'll buy this to cruise to the cottage all year

I hate my iphone5, only had it for less than a year and the power plug doesn't charge very often (it's the phone, not the wire), screen cracked because I put my keys in the same pocket, battery life is shit, the OS crashes often, calls get dropped. I don't understand the fan fair for apple these days. My first iphone was great, the 2nd was okay too, this one is shit. I'm going to get a Samsung but my iphone needs to last at least 2 years since I paid nearly 900 bucks for it. What a rip off. And when I see 'tards waiting in line for days to capture the latest shit from apple... lol

She did not know what he wanted for the Jag but said he was asking 100k for the Corvette. It is supposedly a numbers matching all origonal 427 split window. But 100k still seems steep with the way the markets been

Bollocks.

There was no 427 in a Numbers Matching Split Window.

Split Window was one year only, 1963 and there was NO 427 option.

Nice JAG, but prefer the Rags and the 12 cycl in the E, but they are worth 3 times as much as the early 1st Gen 6 bangers.

Mind?

Well, so sick and tired of religions, the term "islamophobia" and having to wear white gloves around culturism concepts. First, islamophobia, islam is a scary thing (ok most organized religions are if you remember history). It's not fear I feel when I see someone wearing a head-to-toe burka. I know it's not a "muslim thing" although, if I remember, it was for their "prophet's" wives only as they were held to a higher standard. but what I generally think is "what an idiot, such a stupid and ugly tradition", followed by "maybe she's getting her ass beat each day by her husband" and finally "...if you come from a culture of hating women, evolve before coming here". I don't care too much about the hijab, kids with those justin beiber diaper looking pants bothers me much more lol.

And... now we're being told that hating muslims causes terrorism. Essentially saying people who practice islam are so fragile that they are always on the edge of strapping on a suicide vest and blowing themselves up. First, we shouldn't treat people like shit not because the media warns up about a certain group but because it's the human thing to do. If I don't go out and punch ladies wearing islamic garments or burn down mosques, it's not because I think they'll turn into terrorists it's because I'm not a fucking animal. Personally, I think all places of worship should be converted to something useful like parking spots, parks or other things.

Anyway, there's lots of shit I don't understand. Just wish there was a cure, like an air-born remedy that can stop people from being religious, to wake up and question faith as every person should.

Richmond Hill man allegedly drunk dials cops to help him start car :hammered:

Impaired judgement may be the most appropriate charge for this one.
On Tuesday, York Regional police arrested a Richmond Hill man after he called them seeking help starting his car.
The caveat; he was allegedly drunk at the time.
Police say they received the man’s call for help at around 2:30 a.m. He then directed officers to his location near Bathurst Street and King Road in King Township.
“The call taker could hear the engine revving in the background as the driver attempted to get his vehicle moving,” police said in a release.
Officers arrived to find the vehicle on the shoulder of King Road. The car was running, with the lights and windshield wipers on, but the man couldn’t figure out how to drive it.
Police allege the would-be driver was “showing obvious signs of being impaired by alcohol.”
He was arrested and taken to a police station, where police say he blew over the legal limit.
Andrew Scuglia, 27, is facing charges of impaired care or control and over 80 care or control.
Police explained the charge.
“Impaired care or control is a criminal offence for which a person can be charged with if they are impaired by drug or alcohol and make attempts to operate a vehicle. The vehicle does not need to be moving to be subject to the offence of Impaired care or control.”

Lol, what a fuckin moron.

I kinda have a problem with this though... So I get hammered and hop in my truck and decide to sleep it off. Few mins later a cop knocks on my window and I get charged for being drunk. Whats the problem here? I got drunk, so I slept in my truck. Big deal. Kind of the same thing if I'm out drinking late one night, get home and pass out, wake up early and drive to where ever.. get pulled over and still blow over the limit.

Why can't people see how unhealthy religion really is? Believe in some magic creature that "created" the universe all you want but stop there and leave it in your own home. Plus the 3 major religions are all pretty much share the same things and yet people are willing to die for some crazy shit that even a half-wit would question.

Plusd, I wonder if those really at the top of isis believe in allah in the first place. I mean the ones sending money, I bet you they aren't funding this war because they truly think they need to start a jihad, they just found some retards to do their bidding.

To be honest... as a non-smoker. I hate having to smell cigs when walking into a building, like walking through a fart cloud but worse. Also hate it when someone is smoking on a patio and the smoke blows into my face. I don't say anything, usually hold my breath when walking into a building when smokers are loitering around the entrance. I think people throwing lit butts out of their car windows worse. It's near 2016, we all know the health hazards so why is it allowed to happen? <- Off topic.

On topic: There are other ways to inhale THC, you can vape but it's pretty expensive, I think the oil is like $100 a gram but it's not "too" hard to make either albeit can be risky. The only issue I could possibly see with getting high in public is people will drive stoned as fuck. It's also damn near impossible to be a legal supplier, I tried with some people (one of which is a doctor) and we got rejected. Requires a shit-ton of money, you need high security at your facility. I think, honestly, you need to know someone in government to get a permit.

Depend on what you using them with. Cast iron is preferred with chefs because they cook really even. How ever if your using a ceramic top range you want to avoid cast iron and copper because they will scratch the glass. Good quality stainless is best but thats we're your gonna pay the price.

Thats not true
The pan will heat very unevenly, because cast iron is a relatively poor heat conductor compared to materials like aluminum and copper. An aluminum pan will heat more evenly because heat travels quickly across aluminum.
The main advantage of cast iron is that it has very high volumetric heat capacity, which means that once it's hot, it stays hot.
The other advantage is its high emissivity—that is, its tendency to expel a lot of heat energy from its surface in the form of radiation.

The main reasons we switched to primarily cast iron 7 years ago weren't any of those. We do still have older stainless steel cookware as well but they get used less than the range of cast iron cookware we have. Any aluminum and non-stick was thrown out 15 years ago. We have also used the cast iron cookware on our Ceran top stove for the past 7 years (stove is 15 years old) and it still looks like new - key is not to drag the pots across the stove top. My best jalapeno cornbread is done right in the large cast iron skillet in the oven.

********************

(NaturalNews) Cooks seeking alternatives to toxic non-stick cookware often find themselves in a bind. Stainless steel, which seems to be the healthiest alternative, is expensive, and it does not lend itself well to cooking eggs, pancakes and other dishes that non-stick cookware typically excels at. If you have not yet discovered the benefits of cast iron cooking, here are 10 reasons to buy and use a cast iron skillet.

1. Replacing a non-stick skillet with a cast iron one allows you to avoid the toxic fumes that accompany most non-stick cookware. Cast iron can also replace aluminum cookware, which may also pose health hazards.

2. Besides the stove, you can use a cast iron skillet in the oven, at any temperature. This comes in handy for making corn bread, frittatas, and flat bread.

3. It is nonstick. Surprisingly, a preheated cast iron skillet rivals the qualities of non-stick cookware, as long as it is properly seasoned and cared for. You can quickly move up this short learning curve by talking with employees at your local cookware store or by reading a book or Internet article about cast iron care.

4. Cast iron is easy to clean up. Not only does food easily lift off from cast iron cookware, soap is not needed or recommended, since it erodes the seasoning.

5. There are health benefits. You can actually boost your iron intake from eating food cooked in cast iron cookware. This vital mineral is crucial for maintaining energy levels, and it helps strengthen immune systems.

6. It is inexpensive. Cooks looking to replace non-stick cookware often investigate stainless steel. However, a high-end, 12-inch stainless skillet runs well over $100, while a similar-sized cast iron one costs less than $30.

7. Food cooks beautifully. Using a cast iron skillet you can create restaurant-quality, homemade fish sticks, potato pancakes and French toast, complete with golden brown, crispy exteriors. Contrast this with non-stick cookware, which makes browning nearly impossible.

8. Cast iron is sturdy and wears well. Since it does not scratch, there is no need to use plastic utensils, and there is no fear of using your silverware to stir or scoop. It lasts for so long that many people still use cast iron cookware inherited from their parents and grandparents.

9. In an emergency, cast iron cookware can be used over any heat source. As such, many disaster planning lists include cast iron as the survival cookware of choice.

10. It has been used for thousands of years. Natural News readers already understand how new technologies are often the least healthy, while those used by earlier generations are often more beneficial and more in line with how we are designed. Our cookware choice is no exception.

Although there are many benefits to cast iron cooking, make sure to understand the drawbacks before you start: cast iron pans are very heavy; they require intentional maintenance in order to keep them rust-free and non-stick; and care is needed if you have a glass-top stove. But once you take the plunge, you will wonder why it took you so long to start!
