Had a dream lastnight, that I got into some trouble with the GT350 and a cop had me pulled over and was giving me a ticket...

Then he said nice car, "I'll make you a deal, I'll et the ticket slide if you let me take the car for a rip"

I looked at him...then the car, then back at him and said...

"No thanks, I'll take the ticket!!"

Todd Burgess was just a guy out doing his job but never returned home from work. While winching a car out of the ditch near Port Perry he was stuck and killed by a vehicle that apparently had not slowed down, had not moved over and was most certainly driving too fast for the conditions. We all see it each and every day, emergency vehicle on the side of the road, few if any passing drivers slow down, almost none move over and given this has become all too common, tragedies like this will continue. WTF are people racing to that is more important than this man's life???

According to the OPP, the northbound vehicle that struck Burgess also began sliding out of control on the roadway. Police described it as "snow-covered, slushy and icy.".

He said the "young girl" driving the silver car couldn't have missed the accident scene because the tow trucks on the side of the road were "lit up like Christmas trees. There was no way she couldn't see the trucks."

The OPP have not announced any charges in the fatal collision.

A bunch of flashing lights and a car in the ditch. Don’t you think that might be a good fucking clue that the road might be slippery? I hope they throw the book at her, literally.

tough to get any custom stuff on the road in the PQ had many friends have to sell their custom bikes for the same reason - if the libs where still in power here, I believe this would be the case here as well as they where following the PQ lead on emissions and custom vehicles - don't know the full details but I know its tougher there

If one was to do it with all emissions intact / no smoke showing even on light accel, no one would be the wiser n chances are better vs not nothing would ever come of it. though the emissions rule on swaps was has to comply with the emissions requirement of the motor going in. so say 1980's Cummins would be required to have the 1980's Cummins emissions stuff. or has this changed recently?

My desire to "roll coal" has really waned as I get older, so that's not the intention. However I've always loved diesel engines, and miss having the low end torque and capability of one in my life. But modern emissions laden stuff scares the fuck out of me not to mention its Lambo money for new. Ideally a 2003-2005 Cummins truck with the 6spd would fit the bill, but Dodge electronics from the era have let me down before. Also rusttttttttt

Try Cuba , Not varadero but Cayo Coco. My brother goes every year to TRYP Cayo Coco. He paid 3000 all inclusive for 2 weeks for 2 people. Flight direct from Ottawa to Cayo Coco. I'm thinking you could go for around 800 for a week.

You couldn't pay me to go to Mexico. A friend of mine was grabbed while going from the beach into her Resort in Cancun. She was beaten and thrown in a sewage pit and left for dead. She was there for 3 days before they found her. Meanwhile her husband was held by police for being a suspect. Today there is breaking news about a flight attendant from Ottawa who was nearly beaten to death in her room at her resort in Cancun. They actually arrested a Mexican local this time.

Another vote for Cuba. We have been there many many times, and never any security issues.
Veradero is nice if you want to visit Havana (which is a worthwhile trip if you have never been). Cayo Coco is also very nice. Our favourite tho is Holguin on the eastern tip (not far from Guantanamo LOL). We stay at the Paradisus. If you can swing for the “Royal Service” it gets you the nicest, quietest, best vacation you could dream of.

some dicey stories coming from Dominican also.

Say what you will about Cuba being a police state, having uniformed and plainclothes police everywhere has an upside in protecting tourists and keeping their $$ flowing into Cuba

Cuba is pretty decent and safe but the food is meh - probably better if you want to drink yourself silly and don't care too much about the food. We were over at Cayo Santa Maria before it got built out but there is more there now and the resorts will be newer as a result. We enjoyed it but once was enough for us. Been to Mexico once and will not go back.

DR used to be nice but a lot of bad stories coming out of the over the past couple years....of course a lot of people go there so some bad stories are not unexpected.

I personally prefer the islands of the Lesser Antilles - I enjoyed St. Maarten in the past but they were hit hard by the hurricane a couple years ago but I heard re-building was moving quickly so they've probably re-gained a lot of their capacity (might be worth checking out for deals in case they're trying to entice visitors back).

My next stop in the LA is going to be Grenada - former British colony so english speaking, pretty safe as a small island, and food is good. More pricey than Cuba and maybe on par with a better resort in DR, and weather in the LA is better in winter than the GA.

surprisingly simple to get the effect.

the center blank is made up of 3/4 birch plywood, and thin strips of Walnut. The finials are solid walnut.

18709

I just used off the shelf stuff, basically scrap wood, I've read that the lines in the plys can be a bit cleaner and less waste cutting around holes in the plys if I use a boat grade or specialty plywood. might for future ones these are just testers to see how they turn out.

don't have any progress picks other than this finial polished and ready to be parted off

18710

its a good practice in patience. lol nothing like doing all the work to get the finial just right and then catching an edge and snapping it in two

Speed limits dropping in the GTA

I always find it frustrating that few if any problems are actually addressed head on vs slapping on a politically correct patch. Save the pedestrians, make our roads safer n the chant goes on and on. Never mind we continue to see police resources stretched so thin there is precious little on road enforcement in spite of the nonsense we all see day after day after day on our roads. Never mind we see Zombie pedestrians constantly step out into traffic without looking and cross streets pretty much anywhere they please. Yes same ones that walk right out into traffic because they know "pedestrians always have the right away". Hope having the right away is comforting as their eyes close for the last time. When was the last time you or anyone you know was stopped at a seasonal ride spot check yet based on what we see in the news, drunk driving is alive and well.
On the flip side, investigative report after investigative report on how so so many have drivers lic's in spite of never having taken and or passed a legit drivers road test. We see em everyday, can't keep their car in lane on a straight piece of road let alone a curve, can't get close enough to a gas pump to actually get fuel in, have no idea what happens at a 4 way stop, no idea what to do if the traffic lights are out and the list goes on and on and on.
But reducing speed limits are going to make it all ok.

It wasn’t too hard to do. Just needed my H2S Alive and first aid. Those are an industry standard. And I know a guy who works in the patch and got me an interview. I myself am involved with the fracking end of the patch. But there are a ton of different areas. Drilling, testing, wireline, pump down etc.....

I haven't heard of a breach of any of these sites yet - more likely your data was stolen some time in the past year and was sold on the dark web sometime during that period and just used now. They might take some card numbers from a purchased list and do card testing (small dollar transactions in a card-not-present environment) before running the whole list on purchasing fenceable products.

Was your card fraudulently used on websites that don't ask for the CVV (3-digit code) in their shopping cart or did they get that too? Or were you just notified by the bank that your account was compromised (which means they found your name/card number from a compromised site/store or a dark web sell list)?

Possible the data was stolen some time in the past, I don't know if they got the CVV too. They did exactly as you said in regards to testing the card out first with small transactions. First purchase was for 1 cent, second $11.00 and then $2500, that's when my CC company froze the card and called me regarding the transactions. New card will be sent out hopefully soon.

LOL! I don't think they're that charitable. Probably linked to Ukraine or some other shady spot and looking for quid pro quo.

Likely 1 cent across a list of card numbers to make sure they were still goo numbers then followed a pattern of transaction velocity after that. I wonder what the larger transactions (and which websites) were for.

Why is my commute time increasing exponentially? If I were to do 9 to 5, I'd spend over 4 hours / day on the road? Thankfully, for now I do 7 to 3 when I can. Still that used to be 1.5 hours / day to 2 hours and 20 minutes which isn't terrible for the GTA. But it won't get better. I'm looking for a new job downtown so I can ride a bike (or take the bus) to the go train and leave my truck at home.

My mom used to work for one of the big banks, her strongest message was never to use the debit card. Me and my wife never use our debit cards, heck I don't even carry it with me. I would rather my CC get hit which is far easier to correct verse your bank account. I do have a back up CC with my bank, the CC that got compromised was my points card. Oh well...

Yeah, if debit card gets hit then your bank account gets frozen by the bank until they sort it out - not good when you have pre-auth payments coming out. Easy to get credit card replaced. I have Aeroplan, Air Miles, and Amex Cobalt cards so can easily switch among them if there's a problem. Also keep two USD cards because until they got chip in the US, cards were regularly compromised at POS (mag stripe is easy to replicate).

Over the past few weeks and in the coming weeks I've been busy installing tracking devices for a customer - maybe two hundred in total - the irony in all this is during the past few months and over the coming years (hopefully two) I've been and will be eliminating the things in my life that require what I feel is excessive and unnecessary tracking. It's understandable the need for tracking but I feel the need for excessive communications and constant tracking is an expense I don't want to afford in the future and something we lived without in the past. Tracking in my opinion has become a clever development of generating income for nothing really in return (that I can understand in many cases) Tracking has always been there but it seems to be more complex further eating up free time and expense. My biggest fear aging, is will I be able to understand and adapt to tracking?
