Had a great day...Worked on the ATV and got it riding smooth! Then helped my son work on his "project" car. Since he isn't working this summer, he decided to buy himself a $250 2004 Impala. He always liked the full size chevs especially when they are blue. Car is in pretty good shape a with just a little surface rust. Hopefully we can do the same tomorrow.

I started to add some sound to my notch... picked up used and cheap 12" sub with amp. But I wired everything for a 5 channel amp, better speakers and head unit which will happen for next season. It currently sounds bad but it's better than nothing.

I had an 04 Impala and other than my Genesis is has been my favorite full sized daily driver. Tons of space, handles decently and gets pretty good millage.

Mine had leather and front bucket seats. The rear seats would fold down and make the already huge trunk just immense.

I have a Canada Post superbox directly accross the street from me.

There are two kinds of people;

1 those that stop blocking my driveway
2 those that pull forward an extra car length to the 5 car long curb.

about 60% of the people are #1

Feel your pain...I live on a short street and people use my driveway as a turn around in stead of driving around the block. :choke:

its been awhile since I've been into detailing. so I don't want to say for sure. if I recall correctly its more you don't want to apply the product to a dry top.

I'm sure someone more up to date will chime in or if you concerned about causing damage I'm pretty sure a member or sponsor here owns a detail shop.

I watched a youtube video and then followed directions. Washed the car and then washed the ragtop with the low foam soap and sponge in the kit. and rinsed completely. I then sprayed the top evenly with the protectant and let dry. There are other fine products out there like Ragtop that do the same job. I used AutoGlyn because I like all their products and it was easy to source in Covid times from CT

HID's in factory halogen housing = blinding. HID's in actual HID projector housings = sharp cutoff line same as an OEM HID's in a higher end car. I WAS blinding everyone now I'm not.

Looks like you might be legal. Depending on how the cop sees the Housing. If he sees the whole headlight as the housing you are illegal. If he only sees the HID housing inside the headlight and it is marked with HG or euro equivalent then you are good.

I still think it looks pretty good.

Beautiful day on Wednesday for an anniversary lunch out in the vineyards in the Niagara region - Jordan to be specific. We knew we wanted to head down to the area for the day for our anniversary (our dog Rusty came along for the drive as it was his 14th birthday today also) and Di Profio Estates was one winery serving wine (by the bottle) and food in their vineyard - only problem is that kitchen is only open Fri-Sun right now. We found a nearby restaurant that was open for takeout, Jordan House, and they called Di Profio and told them we wanted to do takeout from Jordan House and enjoy in the Di Profio vineyards with the winery's wine of course. Di Profio agreed so we headed down around midday. Great service from both the restaurant and the winery, great food, fantastic setting, wanted something chilled because of the heat so went with a refreshing Rosé - which the winery closed up the bottle after so we could take the partial bottle home with us. Spent some time chatting with the Di Profio's husband/wife owner team - really nice people who weren't in a rush to get rid of us and even gave us a dessert to try that their chef was working on for their Father's Day weekend menu.

Quick trip to the Falls for a walkabout before heading back to the GTA -weird seeing the Falls so empty (even though mid-week).

Definitely worth checking out Jordan House and Di Profio Estates if you're visiting the area:

Not talking about the unfair traffic stops a lot of people get because of their skin color (profiling), I mean "armed suspect, not gonna touch" type deal. Everyone is stupid about everything these days. No middle ground, no responsibility, no common sense.... </rant>

Talking to some of the drivers here that cross the boarder daily - said Florida reported 9000 new cases in one day after beaches reopened - many areas in the US like Georgia are covid hots spots again going full bore business....if they send the kids back to school here in September I will likely keep mine home until a vaccine is available - kids may have less of a problem with the virus but that doesn't mean they can't carry it and spread it to adults and what happens in a house when one kid brings home the sniffles or head lice...

Can I use cork and gasket maker for a fuel tank gasket?

The rubber one the company sent WITH the sending unit. With the sole purpose of being installed in a gas tank has dissolved away

Have been watching and enjoying Fox Sports Racing on Rogers Ignite channel 541. Tried yesterday and apparently it is no longer available in their standard service and they have been warning me in my bill which I just pay without reading (fixed amount) since May that the service because of a disagreement with Fox would cost an additional $7.00 monthly.

Are there any free sources of Fox Sports Racing?

Outboard. It’s a 1992 riveted/welded hull. I suspect a few rivets and the bow seam.

We had a guy that use to do truck bed liners. I had an old 11ft aluminum for banging around small lakes. Has a small leak on the seam

This guy sprayed it with a special liner meant for boats. Sealed it right up and cut down on the noise from the kids banging around.

Wasn’t super cheap but solved the issue with relative ease

CDN/US trend should be upwards if the Covid threat continues to slowly fade but really gotta see what the economy over here does. US markets seem to be doing fairly well despite the country being an active tire fire. I'd think we hang out around 74-78c USD rangefor a while but maybe thats just me.

US is a dumpster fire and the "market" (not the economy) reflects differently likely due to overweighting of the FAANG type stocks in the major indices which is hiding underlying issues (eg. quality of employment decreased prior to pandemic due to lower wage/benefit gig economy and contract jobs). That said, I wouldn't expect the FX rate to hold positive in Canada's favour longer term because the export income we depend on (ie. resource related) is tied to economic activity globally which is down and expected to be down for a while until countries start to re-open fully (which is uncertain at this point). Even then, we may be in a recession or depression which will keep demand low. Good example which is visible to all of us is the oil meltdown which started around the time of the pandemic - that's a big hit to our bottom line before you add all the other stuff we dig out of the ground and sell to other people.

Not 100% as of yet.

I’ve contacted people in the governments and they are telling me to proceed and deal threw the municipality

Then it just scrapped off

The scoring tool? I've got one of those. I tried multiple methods including scoring with hot water, scoring with hot water mixed with wallpaper remover and or fabric softener (numerous sources said it helps), scoring and steamer and just steamer. Only thing that actually worked was the steamer, and scoring or not scoring didn't change the amount of time needed.

Now I just have to clean all the remaining glue off the walls, which is a whole process in itself.

This wallpaper wasn't peelable or easy strip. I've removed that stuff before and it was much easier.

What I find fascinating and scary is that some conspiracy theories make more sense than the supposed truth. Especially around this whole pandemic.

E85 fuel coming to the gas pumps in Ontario very soon.

For those that don't know E85 is fuel that is made from corn and burns cold in your engine, that means more timing. Running E85 during a hot August day your motor will think it's October so your ET's won't drop off as much during those very hot summer days.

Your local speed shop and mechanic (I'm sure this applies to many other businesses as well).

They want and need your business and no they aren't blowing you off on either supplying parts or services. Parts that would normally be available right down the street simply aren't on any shelf anywhere right now. In many cases a mfg makes the bulk of their product in house but a supplier to them for say hardware or a one of part is either shut down or sitting waiting for a long since overdue order to come in. As such, those selling / installing parts look like the bad guy when they tell you it's going to be a long wait. Perhaps the business your in is running normally, be thankful because many are upside down right now scrambling to look after you the very best they can.

Got an immediate pm asking if it's just performance related parts, I wish. Two weeks ago, not an outter wheel bearing to be had for a 2500 Chev van. Day before it was no one had rebuilt calipers for a 99 up Mustang. Fortunately we deal with a local small rebuilder. While thanking him for fixing us up within a couple of hours, said he has no idea how long he'll be open as bulk of the rebuilding parts (mainly rubber seals) come from offshore, hasn't seen a shipment since early in the year. Premium brake pads we use on daily drivers, last two jobs, had to settle for what was available vs what we want. Performance parts, still waiting on a pile of stuff from MM for Ross's car, wheel spacers for my own, no idea how long, are normally available locally same day.

Just to add to Rick's post, if you're looking for parts and the store has it available grab it because it might not be available for a while. The manufacturers are running out of parts to sell and are very behind in building new ones. Then add the shipping speed at which everything is moving these days and it isn't fun, I know I'm getting tired of telling my customers "your parts are on it's way".

Even the Lund Racing tunes are taking a bit longer because they are so backed up with tunes, hang in there everyone we're living in some of the craziest times ever.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone with one that has anything bad to say about KB's kit except wishing they'd installed it sooner. All the ones we are a part of, bolted onto otherwise stock engines with excellent results. Intercooled you'd expect to see approx 400/400 at the rear wheels with a steep torque curve starting a tic over 2000rpm. Early hard hitting TQ is what makes it feel like your engine grew itself a whole bunch of cubic inches of displacement.
Like many vendors, KB is a bit slow to fill orders right now due to small part supplier slow down.

As you know rick I’m not crazy about the V2, it’s currently for sale on Kijiji, I just wanted some feed back before I go buy a KB. It won’t be until next year anyways.

If the above is the kind of numbers / performance your looking for, it will not disappoint. Can say that with 100% confidence as we have three 2v guys on KB set ups now and another waiting on his kit to come in.When I had my 2000GT, was just as happy with it's Saleen M90 set up which made similar numbers. You'd be hard pressed to take the smile off the face of guys here on the board running an M90 on 05 up 3V's.

My 86,000km (99% original) 88 notch is almost done, detailed the engine bay. It's all original but dirty as hell. Interior was torn apart and cleaned (needed new heater core anyway)... I'm just finishing up some basic stuff like fixing oil leaks, not looking forward to fixing the rear main seal.

I'm going to start collecting stock parts for my 87... I may revert it to stock and sell it but this car has evolved over the years lol: I think It would be wiser to revert to stock to make a very clean notch versus trying to sell modded?

- 113,000km black 5.0/T5 with smoke grey interior
- TFS 170cc twisted wedge heads (ARP bolts)
- TFS track heat intake
- TFS stage 1 cam
- TFS roller rockers and hardened pushrods
- BBK long tube, BBK X-pipe (with cats), Pypes M80 catback
- Electric fan setup and aluminum rad (70amp circuit, thermostatic switched)
- MAF swap with A9L computer, 75mm TB, spacer and MAF (24# injectors)
- 255lph fuel pump
- Z-spec T5, Aluminum drive shaft, 4.10 gears
- Maxmotorsports: Tubular K-member, adjustable PS rack bushings, steering sshaft, control arms, CC plates, strut tower brace, front coilover kit (Bilstein struts), adjustable rear lower control arms (with eibach sportline springs)
- 2003 Cobra brakes 13" rotors and Cobra emblem calipers, Cobra vented rear brake setup as well, 93 Cobra style e-brake cable, etc.
- 18" wheels (275 and 245 tires)
- Battery relocated to trunk with cut off switch and remote battery post locations under the hood
- Wire tucked
- Original Dech kit (not fake)
- Keaneen Ram air style hood (weighs less than 10 pounds!)
- Mint restored interior with sport seats and halo headrests

A base model is about 40K. The 301A package is $2600 and you get dual air and drive mode selection. The PPII package is about $6500 and it includes wide 19” PPII wheels with 305’s at all 4 corners, Magneride, 3:73’s, a more aggressive front splitter and PPII rear spoiler. This car also has the $1000 Active Exhaust.

Not really a ‘base’ model with over 10K in options. Regular MSRP would be 51K. This one is going for 44K and that’s before any negotiation. Pretty good deal imo.

opinions on bed covers, had a hard tri fold and the wife always complained it was too heavy and if you needed the whole bed you could not see out the back window. went to a ford roll up and it tends to freeze in the winter rending the bed inaccessible. also a finder pincher if you try and unroll it outside the felt parts.

thinking for trying something like this. anyone had experience?

Depends on what you want. The PPII is more track focused. The Bullitt is equipped as a PPI.

Had the Retrax on my '04 Lariat which replaced a hard tonneau. Comes with drain tubes and may require drilling. They freeze in the winter and if you don't have a heated garage to thaw...can be a pain in the butt.

had the last truck tuned and the dealer didn't care. they said if the tune buggers up the computer then ford wont pay for the computer but warranty on everything else would still be there.

I always just flash it back to stock before service incase there are any ford reflash updates.

That wallpaper is finally gone. It was in the dining room, downstairs hallway, stairs and upstairs hallway. Yeah, it was bad. Upstairs bathroom is also pink, but just stripes. It has to go soon too. Kitchen is pink plaid that I can live with for a while. Powder room is purple old time bicycles being ridden by men in suits. They even did the ceiling. I'm going to leave the ceiling, there is crown molding and I think it'll be a neat throwback to how the house was when we moved in.

Yes, the owners were old. They had lived here for over 60 years, and she really liked pink.
