I really enjoy my new job. Pay is meh but yesterday it hit me while I was finishing a job. No one around me, no meetings, no bosses, no 1.5 hour commute on the 401 every day. And during the painting, I had plenty of time to think and listen to podcasts about physics and other neat things.

Cool, whatcha listening to? For science and physics I have Science Friday and Daniel & Jorge Explain the Universe.

Looking at new Mustangs...............found it really odd that once you opt for Recaro's there is no power option. For me, manual forward and back on the base is fine but being stuck without infinite adjustment on the back is a deal breaker. Yes realize the back can be adjusted but only within the detents provided, something that drives me nutz with the Boss Recaro's in the '05. I guess spoiled with the aftermarket Recaro's in the cobra.

I found large tile easier to deal with than small stuff

Just make sure you use the proper notch and let extra time to dry. Before grout. The 24x24 we used called for 72 hours.

Buy the best and longest ALL inclusive warranty from the dealership not independent aftermarket companies . Expensive, yes, but easiest to get work done on your car. Some industry people that work on these over engineered works of art are used to fighting with the independent warranty companies so they may shed light on how they try to get paid.

If you're gonna buy used higher end foreign, make sure its something that has service records. Where you buy from matters less than the history of that particular model.

I'd research the vehicles you are considering first. A lot if higher end stuff has some poison pill maintenance items like certain Audis with timing chains on the back of motors, BMW VANOS, Mercedes 6.3 head bolts, Porsche IMS, ETC. If you're considering a model that has one of these $6k plus services bills make sure its been done at a reputable shop with receipts, or the price is in line to compensate.

Don't buy just the badge, there's a huge difference in what you' expect to pay to maintain a C63 6.3 vs a c63 5.5. Or a C6 S6 vs a C7 S6.

If you can get one certified pre-owned with a manufacturers warranty, that's the best ticket next to new. Remember the purchase price depreciates but the maintenance costs do not.

That said avoid fucking V10 BMW's like the goddamn plague regardless of how cheap they are.

Ross and I headed over to Heritage after lunch to strap our butts into a PP2 and put a few miles on. I fully expected it to be a bit of a handful on the rutted city streets, which it is. Plan from minute one was to replace stock wheels and tires so no biggy. Hill assist is nice for take offs everywhere, blip on downshift is cool but could see me shutting it off for normal driving. No active exhaust but found the note from out back pleasing at all speeds. Power exceeded my expectations, damm that engine is smooth as butter. The shifter and clutch are nice, very nice. Steering wheel with tilt and telescopic are a cool touch, well done. Combo of styling plus splitters and small rear wing on top of wheel color, stunning n cool. Switching between suspension modes is quick and easy. Amazed how well the mag ride eats the ruts n cracks up especially considering it's on super short sidewall 19" tires. Suspension modes themselves give it exactly the feel I would have hoped for, well dialed in me thinks.
Although I really liked so much of the car, underwhelmed with the radio / nav screen, graphics and layout, radio volume and tuning knobs, not sure where happened there either. Sound quality of the system fell well short of what I'd consider enjoyable. Previously driven PP1 and PP2 with standard power seats and found I could adjust to exactly what feels good to me. Recaro's in this one, seats themselves are off the charts cool but without power the basic mounting position is no where close to what I'm looking for. As in many vehicles these days, more tailored to drivers that prefer a laid back / more reclined seating position. To me that puts too much pressure on the backs of my legs to comfortabley work the pedals and has my butt positioned far too low.
I came away saying it's a really really really nice car but for me it just didn't push the wow factor button.
Thank you again to Bill from Heritage for setting me up, great seeing you.
If anyone is in the market for a 6 spd PP2, Bill has a green one in stock (PP2 Recaro's and Nav), white one (PP2 Recaro's Active exhaust Nav) plus a blue one (PP2 Recaro's Active Exhaust not sure about Nav) shortly after that.

Business = little financial reward for 15 hour work days, no time off and no paid sick days but enjoying your work days.

I’m hoping being poor is temporary with the business, it’s hard to get ahead. I pulled a lot of revenue this month but net profit is still non existent lol. Full time job or business? Job = lots of money, paid time off, sick days and benefits but also comes with shit 3 hour a day commute, office politics and generally hating my life.

Business = little financial reward for 15 hour work days, no time off and no paid sick days but enjoying your work days.

I’m hoping being poor is temporary with the business, it’s hard to get ahead. I pulled a lot of revenue this month but net profit is still non existent lol. I’m still in the red, once in the black I doubt I will be constantly driving this sort of revenue:( I worked 70 hours a week only to PAY my company stay alive lol. Yikes

welcome to business ownership. its not about tons of cash in the bank. its about cashflow, there will be times when things are flush, and times when you are not sure how your gonna pay the bills. the rewards can be huge but the workload is the same. be prepared to be barely scraping by while constantly hearing fro, media, government and general public about how your a crook, and can afford anything simply because you own your own business.

couple things that were told to me when we started,

in a service based business people have a tendency to focus too much on cramming in job after job, its what your good at and what you enjoy, sometimes that can lead to tunnel vision and paper work, invoices bills accounts, can be over looked. it seems silly to say but overlooked invoices can happen all the time and they can kill even the most successful business.

second. comes as the business grows. and a pod cast i was listening to the other day put it really well. its the easiest thing in the world for a business owner to hire someone to do the job you hate to do, but its the hardest thing to hire someone to do the job you love to do. as growth happens you need to be prepared to accept that you may not be the best at certain aspects, even if you love them, failing bringing in talent to do those things so an owner can focus on the business and growth can stagnate a business in a hurry.

I found the same issue with the seats - but it is hard for me to be comfortable in any seat due to past hamstring injuries - long rides was killer on my left leg and hip - but they do hold you in nicely - but comfort for me means my hips need to be a bit higher than my knees - I just write it off now as just being an old mofo and once its wound up and the adrenaline is pumping all that goes away...lol

Something snapped in my little brain... I started to hate the idea of working for an organization (having a job) to the point of just thinking about it gives me a panic attack lol... Once I got over the fear of not having money and getting over the greed of wanting nice things like big TV's, big fancy house, and weekend driver toys... I started wanting things like passive income, assets, and no liabilities. It felt like a damn trap, work hard for some asshat only to buy shit you don't need because you HATE your life and then feel like you need more money for materialistic shit and with that more stupid shit to deal with at work and more hatred towards your life...

Then you wake up while you are climbing rapidly to a 200k /year salary and think "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME". Honestly, guys, I was much happier making 80k than I was at my highest peak in income... now I make next to nothing lol Don't work for money, it's the most freeing thing you can do... Work on yourself so you can be in a position to have money work for you. Not easy, I was sick for months (not covid) and it felt like I was weaning off a nasty drug. Letting go of the need for a full time "secure" job that paid a lot of money is not something we've been taught to do. Worst case, my family and I move to a cheaper home in the middle of nowhere and start over... it's just money.

So we're looking into a legal basement apartment (if it's allowed in my neighbourhood, I doubt it is, we live in a snobby-ish area) and we are looking at a house to buy that we can rent out but with a budget of only 400k, it's impossible in the GTA lol... It's stupid how homes are being sold for. We're keeping our eyes open. Worst case I get a full time for 6 months to get a mortgage for the 2nd home and increase our buying power, then quit that shit once we get it lol

My goal for my little business is to build it to a point where I don't have to work for it full time to generate some form of income my job really is to buy labour at wholesale and sell it at retail prices - as basic as that, let it take care of me versus the other way around. Won't be an easy 5-10 years... but still beats working for some idiot douche bag for the next 5 to 10 years and have nothing but useless junk and bleeding ulcers to show for it.

Sorry, felt ranty this morning.

wife is being indecisive and I'm trying not to make it for her as I usualy do when it comes to car buying time.

she cannot decide weather she wants a car or an suv.

we have tested a few of both and have narrowed it down to a top choice of each.

so suv winner is 2017 Audi SQ5 dynamic. loaded

car winner is 2018 BMW 440i Grande Coupe. also loaded, including the M performance 2 package

payment is within dollars and factory warranty remaining, plus an extended package. . both agreed to throw in no charge winter wheel and tire packages. both within 50hp of each other. both AWD. both with similar options.

she cant decide between suv and plush comfort with a bit of sport. or a sporty car with a pit of comfort

Well that didn't turn out how I'd hoped. Drove about 2hrs to see it, fire it up, running perfect on 7 cylinders n making odd noises cold. Add to that several dash lights on (low tire / low fuel / oil change req'd) plus wide tint strip added to the factory strip and initial impression was not good. Ok drove so far let's at least take it around the block, steering wheel out to the left, anything more than gently roll on it and the bald rear tires break loose. Hard to believe a 2 yrs old / 20k car could come off as so neglected.

Clean A model Kenny's are 100k territory all day. Factor in the V8 Cat and yea she seems priced accordingly. Cheapest A model I've looked at was 25k, mouse nest of wires and the frame was completely rust jacked so it needed a re rail off the hop. It was a Big Cam III not a Cat either. Hell try and find a "clean" 379 Pete with a pre-emission motor that doesn't need an inframe for under 50k.

Are you serious on the Pete?

My daughter has a Pete for sale for $5,000 and can’t get any interest. Don’t know the model but had an in frame before they bought it about three years ago. Believe it’s a Cat but not sure.

Uhhhh get me the details please. No way it can be a 379 for that price unless the frames GONE, cabs a mess and its a C12 or something. Guessing a 377 or another snub nose.

how do you mean?

in terms of the election? I've closely watched a few. there was allot of questionable stuff that happened in this one. not saying fraud. but stuff that should be looked into. the law suits files and complaints being made would be exactly the same if the circumstances were reversed, the difference would be how the media is covering it.

in terms of trump in general? well of the two candidates one condemned racisms more times than any other president in history (all in interviews all on camera) the other said he didnt want blacks in his subdivision because they would "turn his home into a suburban jungle" and was the driving force and defendant of a bill that put more young back men into jail for minor offences than any other bill in US history. so....... perception is driven by the mainstream media most people don't bother to dig any deeper

If trump knew how to act in public he wouldn't have fed the troll so much. Hi ego is much too big, perhaps a result of living a sheltered life being born into a rich and connected family. America elected a true racist socialist into power over trump, all because he didn't know when to shut up and didn't know how to speak when it was time to do so.

Finally someone who agrees with my take on the whole thing.
Trump is a blowhard, narcissist, arrogant to a fault, and incredibly full of himself. Some of his ideas were stupid, and his handling of the pandemic was moronic. On the other side, Biden accomplished more or less nothing in his 47 year career, and although the main media ignored it, quite believably knew all about and colluded with his son Hunter's illegal or otherwise activities. And his stated policies regarding the Paris Accords, WHO, and Keystone are shortsighted and wrong.

Don't jump all over me, please. It's just my opinion, and last time I looked we are still allowed to actually HAVE an opinion.
