Yup, sometimes Amazon prices are better. Got my front and rear rotors from Amazon as I kept getting Amazon gift cards for my birthday and Christmas. If I had bought the rotors from Rockauto I would have paid too much for shipping as rotors are heavy. So got them from Amazon with prime free shipping and they actually shipped out of Wisconsin.

How were the rotors ? I’m looking to get slotted and drilled but all the ones I see come with evolution brake pads as well.

Middle of dinner, phone rings, normally I would ignore it, because you know… telemarketer, right? But for reasons I won’t get into right now, family is on high alert. So I jump to answer the call. “Would you like your ducts cleaned?”. Seriously, fuck off! I almost threw my phone across the room.

Don’t know yet lol. They’re just blank Centric rotors. Got 4 piston Brembos that I’ll be installing later this year once I repaint them. Just need to get appropriate sized dust shields last. Got everything else needed. Calipers front and rear, rotors, pads and brake lines.

For the first one with the price tag of 230k I would spend that no problem man ( if I had the means). Not only does that car look amazing it is amazing and they’re won’t be many of them. Comes with 1000HP with massive tires. The cars a show stopper. And make no mistake Ford has dedicated so much to their motors and tranny. The engine alone is probably upwards of 80k

Anyone living in the city/burbs have one of those pop up carports? Looking to save garage space.. fox chews up a bit and the boat takes up a lot. We got a big driveway and plenty of room. This would be a long term thing. It wouldn’t be anywhere near the front of the property.. would barely see it from the road. I’ve googled some stuff and eh it’s all kinda vague. Can anyone chime in?

I know, some think it’s a eye sore. Me, I don’t care.

My sister had one (tube frame with pull over plastic cover with enclosed ends) and used it 12 months of the year. Neighbor complained to the city, she was forced to take it down, city said it's to be used as a temp shelter only meaning ok to use for winter but can not be left up. Not sure if this still applies, happened 2yrs ago, North York.

Old Fart
05-16-2021, 11:51 PM
I have 2 Shelterlogic shelters on my lot. Both are 20'x12' and are up year round, which requires city permits. The tarps usually last about 3 years. You do need to anchor them to the driveway or grass as the wind will lift them. Learnt that the hard way with my first shelter many moons ago.

Anything specific you need to know?

hsousa88
05-17-2021, 08:16 AM
Nothing specific really.. I know the covers only last a few years and that’s ok. Just thinkin about the legal aspect.. a few houses around here have them. I guess it all comes down to your neighbours.. soooo I’ll most likely have issues.

Family member had a pop up shelter from Canadian Tire (Shelter Logic I think). This one was on grass and everything in the shelter rusted. As been said, cover only lasted 2 years, basically no warranty for that. I don't know for sure about the legality, probably comes down to neighbours, as has been said.

Hydraulic tensioners?

bad chain or bad tensioner hopefully not an oil pressure issue.

my wife stripped a timing belt on her first car, early VW passat. zero clearance motor. it was all kinds of fucked. 120 down the highway when it popped. she managed to bend every valve and both cams. valves would not even come out of the heads and every piston was buggered.

hope luck is with you

Older 2v / 4v tensioners, iron n pretty reliable, switch to plastic housing later changed all that.
Set out of my 04 Cobra, pooched and looking to fail. Just did set in '03 Mach, one failing. Ross's engine has only few thousand kms on it, chain noise on cold start, new set of iron here to install (original out of '03 Explorer).

Facebook chatter says there was a fatality related to this meet, crashes, fights and some mob mentality justice. Thanks for adding to the already high heat the car scene is getting. Fucking morons (and that’s an insult to morons)

I hear one guy got punched out and one of his eyes were destroyed, police chased a Mustang and it rolled, driver passed today. Burn outs out of control. Guy doing reverse donuts in an older elantra…. Goes on and on. Man the mess they left was unbelievable!!! Idiots!!!

Looked at some photos from that "meet". Looked like the average attendee age was 19 and the average brain cell count was lower than that. Blows my mind since I recall hanging out at "the spot" on Saturday nights at that age and everyone made fun of the idiots who revved their garbage nonstop and did skids in the parking lot. How that became the more prevalent action escapes me so I'll yell get off my lawn and blame social media clout chasing...

I have a few friends that are younger and they get their money 2 ways. Either drugs, or parents are from India and have land. So the family money buys them their living ( house ,bills) The money they make goes to whatever so working 40-50 hours a week goes to a 100k car and they don’t even care.

All this talk of quiet Mustangs and I go the other way. The GT500 mufflers were just a little too tame on Ol Paint so I went back to the Flowmasters. Maybe I'm not that old after all. Nah, who am I kidding, I'm old as dirt, but Ol Paint needed a bit of rumble.

As far as the tires sticking way out past the fenders, that is a major pet peeve of mine. It's the truck version of too much camber.

Qantas crews are battling a snakes on a plane problem on grounded fleet in US desert

Rattle snakes are squatting in Qantas planes stranded in the Californian desert, prompting crews to come up with new ways to combat the slithering reptiles.

Engineers looking after the airline’s A380 fleet in the Mojave Desert while it is grounded due to Covid-19 are whacking away snakes and scorpions calling plane wheels home.

The “wheel whacker” is the latest tool crafted by crews based at the airline’s Los Angeles hanger to help them solve the problem.

Qantas’ LA engineering manager, Tim Heywood, said weekly maintenance is paramount to ensuring the planes are ready to bring in for service, however storing the A380s in the desert has uncovered a venomous hazard.

“The area is well-known for its feisty rattlers who love to curl up around the warm rubber tyres and in the aircrafts’ wheels and brakes,” Mr Heywood said.

“We’ve encountered a few rattle snakes and also some scorpions, but the wheel whacker does its job and they scuttle off.”

Had a bad experience with the old gas from the Plymouth. It truthfully I had no idea how old it really was.

Just finished draining the tank only about 25L but is dirty yellow. Might just slowly dilute it into the tractor gas. Little bits at a time as you said.

Once it hits yellow stage, best to dump in a can and drop at local recycle. Using SeaFoam on a reg basis goes a very long way to preventing separation n keeping fuel fresh.

The thing that's really bothering me (today) is the admin of one just seems to LOVE shitting all over people, especially those who don't agree with his POV or beliefs. And people have basically deified him to where his word is infallible and he's without reproach. Like someone asked about 302 swapping a 6, he posts a loaded response of " why would you want to do that ancient step backwards" and proceeds to shit on anyone saying a V6 isn't better than a V8 swap. Keeps making claims, I ask him to provide some form of metric to back up his claims or explain his POV and he posts random nonsense opinion then claims I'm just another dumb V8 lover idiot when I call him on it.

Like for all the shit people say about not keeping the hobby alive people like this twat are what's killing it. Instead of calling out everyone who doesn't agree with how you choose to mod a car or don't fit in the mold that you want maybe try educating people instead of belittling. And maybe try understanding everyones got different dreams, goals and aspirations for their cars so if they want to choose a mod path that isn't the same as yours that's not wrong. Like I don't give a fucking shit if you can turbo a V6 for $2500 and make the same HP as a 2v or 302, some people just want the V8 and thats fine so quit the Napoleon complex, be helpful, or go back to searching for male enhancement pills.

Short note on your parts vendors.
They would love to tell you your parts are available in short order or even better in stock and ready for you to come in and pick up right now. During Covid, parts supply chains have been crippled to the point there is a long wait for even common parts with others on back order with no idea if and when they be available again. Just as frustrating, in the middle of an install and stuck for the smallest, most common part which is now days instead of minutes away. Cut the guys some slack, they really do want your business and are working harder than ever to keep that grin on your face.
Frustrating times for all of us.

These slow times suck. But I guess we’ve become too comfortable with same day or next day delivery that we just take it for granted. We’ve got it good as just imagine living in a remote location or an island country. Shipping times would suck.

Luckily our supply chain has not disappointed us yet. I know we had a crystal shortage for our pcb assembly but otherwise the “microchip” shortage has not affected us nor has the raw material shortage.

Still waiting on my exhaust. Been over a month now. Should be here some time next month. In the meantime I still gotta install my headers and the Magnaflow exhaust will complete my entire setup. Already got intake, TB and x pipe. Only thing for power I could do now is port the intake manifolds but that’s if I want high end power which I don’t.

Late deliveries are a regular occurrence at my work. I was following up on an order earlier this week that was scheduled for delivery yesterday, when I called the vendor they informed me that delivery would now be late July. I was checking p&d for a bearing the other day and the lead time was 28 weeks. Unfortunately this is the norm right now.

Yep. Lots of stuff still on back order. Seems fridges and freezers are the worst.

Some manufactures have flat out said there are some products that they are not producing now in favour of getting more poplar stuff out ASAP.

My New tractor is sitting at the dealer waiting for the mower deck that is suppose to be in next week. But the back hoe attachment we are getting with it is on back order until at least September.

It is, what it is. People just need to realize that the poor people working at the stores don’t need to be yelled at.

Yep.

People don’t realize that it dosnt matter if it’s auto or agg or tv’s. A lot of the small components come from a handful of manufacturing plants.

There are bidding wars going on to get tings prioritized.

Seen a control board this week that we have been able to get for years at about $100 cost.

At some point I’m gonna start playing The F1 game on my XBOX ONE. I’ve got a Logitech steering wheel and also a shifter for other games if needed. I set it up on an Omega steering wheel stand which also has a mount for the shifter. I just find it awkward to sit on my non-FIA approved IKEA couch lol. Omega does have an attachment for the wheel stand that allows you to bolt up a racing seat to it which is cool and locking caster wheels to move it around. At some point I’d like to get that. I just play in front of my 65” tv. I don’t want to get too crazy into setups like yours but yours is cool. I’ve seen crazier setups. Fanatecs and 3 monitors, etc.

Not without costing within a small amount of a new pipe that actually fits.
Your old pipe (if in good shape) is worth a good buck, will help offset cost of the new one.

Exhaust systems on the SN95/New Edge cars are most commonly referred to as 3 major components

The "manifolds/headers" - part that come right off your heads and merges individual cylinder collectors in to one pipe
The "mid pipe" - the part that merges the collectors of the headers via X or H style connection and contains the cats if present
The "Cat back exhaust" - the flow tubes, mufflers, over axle tubes and tail pipes

The Cat Back is the portion that contains the mufflers and tailpipes (or turndowns) and is the only part of the system that doesn't depend on the configuration of the other two for compatibility. You can run any* cat back system with with any* combination of mid pipe and headers. In your case that means your Borla S type can stay regardless of the other two.

However the manifolds and mid pipe need to be compatible. AKA a shorty header or a stock manifold only works with a shorty header/stock manifold style mid pipe. Vice versa a Long tube header needs a long tube header style mid pipe. Both variants of mid pipes can be had in X or H configuration and containing cats or catless.

Note headers already bolted in place, will drop straight into the K member with no issue.
Upside to headers, gain some power, gain some sweet sound however there is a downside. Break the trans or clutch, headers have to come off first and that means a bunch of x tra labor you'd just as soon not pay for.

Unless your going with at least 4:10 out back, stick with a 5spd trans.
Trans pulled, still makes header install a job onto itself, only x over is pulling the front pipe to remove trans.
