Seriously. It is just a car, but I have sellers remorse still 8 months later

It is not just as easy as buying another. Mine was ... well mine LOL

Anyways thanks for listening.

I hear you, never really got over parting with my 2000 GT.

I’m on the fence about selling the notch. But a big part of doing that is moving to other things. I prefer AC and Nav over rawness and electric drive over gas...

Regrets suck tho

That fear is why I haven't sold my car, it just sits under an inch or so of dust and hasnt moved in 2 years.

Sorry, sellers remorse is the worst.

Go buy a 2019 Supercharged GT. You’ll feel better. I promise.

Those newer stangs will make you forget about anything else. Ford really did up the ante with these.

Just like Armen stated go buy a Coyote Mustang and you'll forget about the old car pretty fast and if you really want a fun car buy an auto and have it custom tuned then see if you'll ever drive another stick car again.

These new Mustangs with the computerized transmission that also needs to be custom tuned is something a lot of guys have not experienced and it's one of those things in life that you have to see for yourself. If you're ever in the area come take my Lund Racing tuned Automatic Coyote for a spin and you'll see what I mean, these aren't the old autos any more.

I've come up with a lot of reasons to sell my Fox and get a new Coyote, but I know I cant actually sell it.
Now my car is in my wedding photos from this past summer. Not that I look at those photos a lot but it would be a constant reminder.

Yep...know that feeling well. Still have a huge regret of selling my first 67 Cougar back in 1986!!

I had my 'o4 yellow cobra(Bought new) for 5 years. For financial reasons I was forced to sell it at a ridiculously low price 3 months after
I paid it off. Almost 10 years later I still regret it.
On the other hand, I have a '17 GT. Factory stock it drives, handles and goes better than the Cobra, looks better and gets better mileage. But, there was something more raw, more "essence of automobile", cruder, perhaps, about the Cobra that makes me miss it.
I'll never forget, though, being picked up by the police one day in the Cobra for the sheer pleasure of the officer just to look at the car and listen to me rev the Borlas.
Or the time I was waiting at a stoplight when a young boy, crossing with his dad right in front of me stopped his dad, pointed at the car and screamed out "Daddy it's a Cobra!"

I hear you oldschool, I had an 04 Oxford White Cobra....and loved it....until a piston wrist pin broke.

I'm on my 7th Mustang now (08 Shelby GT500), and its likely my last....barring coming into a lot of money so I can by a 67 or 68 Shelby GT500...lol.

I followed up the 04 Cobra with a 12 Boss 302....so the Cobra's memory faded quickly. Definitely a favorite of the ones I've owned. I think like others have said here, getting yourself another Mustang will help with the regrets...especially one of the newer S197 or S550's.

Totally agree, I barely drive my 83 vert more than 4 or 5 times a summer now, but my son and I put it together, my son and his bride took their wedding photos in July 2015 with it, and last summer I took my 2 year old grandson for his first ride and local car show with it.
I would have a lynching in my family if I ever decided to part with it. I would also miss it too!

But my sellers remorse is from 1978 when I had to sell a 1967 Mustang Fastback I could not afford on $1.85 an hour at my part time job. Had to pay insurance 1 year in advance back then.

Same story with my 2000 GT. Never easy to find a replacement.
Moral to the story.....be really sure you want to sell your car before you list it or put it up for sale.

I made the mistake of selling my beloved truck. I will not make the same mistake with my Mustangs, unless I get stupid money for them.

I sold my fox and duster in the 90's out of necessity - I miss both those cars. I now own two foxes (under construction) and an s550. I will only sell them out of necessity or like True Blue says "stupid money" The good thing about owning them is they always have some sort of value and can usually be easy to sell (if need be) When I sold my fox and duster I didn't even advertise, they weren't for sale - I was approached. My wife doesn't understand why I purchase particular old cars and only of recent purchased new. it's like having money in the bank. I recently had a buddy sell his 04 Cobra he had from new - I was surprised - his reasoning "the car needed too much to bring it back, high mileage" and moved on. He doesn't regret and bought an audi and loves that car now! Wouldn't have been my choice but he's happy.

I miss my cobra sometimes, but don't regret selling it.

Coyote's are heads and tails above it.

Cobra's are cool because they still were only 03/04 and GT500's have been 2007 to 2014 way more around by comparison and both are expensive to mod and still won't go faster than any 11+ Coyote.

Top dog back in it's day and signature sounds, but we're many years past that now. 800 rwhp is the new 500.

Darkhorse makes some good points but I personally couldn’t sell my Cobra nor would my son let me....I bought the car when he was born and he’s 10 now and loves it even compared to the newer stuff.

He’s a lot like me and appreciates the limited run for the car and it’s “not just another mustang”.

We attend a lot of car shows and very rarely do we see any 03/04 Cobra’s....especially a 10th anniversary like ours!

My dad may also have a lot to do with how I think....he’s owned his 69 Roadrunner since new and could easily sell it and buy 2 Hellcats but never would and nor will I when it’s parked in my garage.

New is nice but classic American muscle will never go out of style and only increase in value.

Understood. Everyone's different, I've never been able to keep my cars long term......I guess cause I never started that way, but do respect everyone that has a car 20 plus years. Every car I buy I plan to keep it that amount of time......but it never happens. lol.

I don't have any remorse for selling Christine. She did me good and it was time for her to go.

This one I'll probably end up selling in the future after a few years of fun with it.

A coyote would be neat.

I wish I could have kept my 1965 Mustang fastback. It was my first car that I bought in 78 and restored everything and upgraded to Shelby spec as well. Looking at the diecast version of it brings good memories.
However, I just bought a 2018 Mustang GT and it is everything I could want in a car. My 91 Fox may have some trouble getting seat time.1601116013

I loved my black Fox Body but throwing money at it just to keep up to a stock 6r80 Coyote wasn't something I could live with and I was getting older so I wanted the power windows, power door locks, anti-lock brakes, comfy seats and a motor that was built for boost and loves to rev. My 2011 is proof of what these car can do it ran 11.04 n/a weighting in at about 3900 lbs. while my 10 second Fox weighed 2900 lbs.

Unless she's real pretty under the bonnet, the only way to fix this desolation is to transplant an '04 Cobra heart and lung into the Stepside.

Cobra's are BAD AZZ cars even to today standards a reasonable one with low K will run ya 18-22 K and with an aftermarket blower its near 600 rwhp, fun as hell.....

the new bad boy the Coyote...either way your gonna pay for a newer one...11-14 are coming down and close to if not already there at the 03-04 cobra's pricing....

the biggest craze going on has been Coyote swap in all gen cars...foxes, SN 95, new edge.....

Me I like stuff that's not too main stream.....

BUT but but. Those are period correct..... and so was the stick out tripping tire look

What combo would you suggest?

I thought of a crownvic swap and axle swap with a Set of chrome saleeens ( because I have them LOL). Then. Nah not another project, it is a a happy hauler. It is gutless though 351, it was a 4 speed truck, elderly owner dumped a c6 in it. I was considering an AODE swap, enjoying the automatic I must getting old

I Still regret it, now another man touched it, not sure I want it back. .... LOL hell yes I would but the garage is full again. Wife should be losing her shyte over it any day now LOL

03-04 cobras are great cars with tones of potential but some are going for lightly used coyote prices (15’s and newer)

For the same price I’d take the coyote

They will be the foxbodies of the next generation just because of the motor. Inexpensive and fast. And then 30 years from now there won’t be many left and their value will increase, lol.

Comparing a modern day Mustang GT with a Coyote motor to a Special Edition car such as the SVT Cobra isn't a fair comparison is it and of course the Cobra will get more cash it's an SE car limited made and their owners hardly drive them.
