Budget: $140k taxes in.
Year Range: 0 to 2 years old
Seats: Must have 4! But doesn't have to be comfy for the passengers lol
Power: Electric or Hybrid
Trans: Auto

You can only have that ONE car and should be able to use it all year and not be afraid to daily drive it either. Keep in mind, you'd have to sell all your toys (all your Stangs) to justify it.

I'm looking at a Porsche Panamera, BMW i8 or Tesla Model S... But I don't really trust Tesla to be "alive" once the major auto makers really get into electrics.

Panamera would be my choice from your three options.

You should add a poll.

Has to be electric or hybrid?

yeah for me personally, I'm tired of the gas engines. Not for "green" because honestly I don't believe it's the answer but no more line-ups at the gas station is enough for me to head out and buy an electric (or plugin hybrid if that's the only option). Instant torque is stupid as well, I had an employee that had the Tesla S P100D and it's just stupid, makes my 2017 GT feel like a Hyundai.

Panamera Sport E-Hybrid would be my choice I suppose then. Can't stand Teslas.

If you decide you can still tolerate fully internal combustion, you can get a very new E63 AMG S in that budget. That cars mental in all the right ways, civilized in all the others. I'd wait in line at a gas pump for 15 minutes a day to daily drive that one.

LOL I really like my G37, not mental by any standards but if I slapped a supercharger on it, nicer wheels, lowering, nicer exhaust. I'd gladly sell my Mustangs (don't tell my wife). But it got me thinking, time to grow up? Me? LOL

She obviously didn't approve a 140k budget, not until 2020 but I can at least dream about it, while I'm sitting in my office wondering why I work 12-15 hours a day :/

A cube truck full of Valium can probably be had for 140k.

2014/2015 VW Jetta TDI, with the "emissions tune" removed.

At least that's what I'm considering at the moment.

Given the choices you posted I’d go for a Panamera, sick car, looks cool, has tons of presence, plus-it’s a Porsche :)

If it was wide-open it would be a Volvo XC90 if I had the need for an SUV (which I currently do), or a Lexus LS500h if there was no need.

5 year old, diesel, econobox.
Not really in the spirit of the thread now, is it?

Perhaps not, but it fits very well with what my choice of car would be. At least for a daily driven vehicle anyway.

Side note:

Given by how much you love to stalk my posts, I get the feeling that you're in love with me and I really hate to break it to you... But I'm not into dudes.

Panamera Sport E-Hybrid or the Volvo XC60/XC90 would be my choice based on your options.

The Turbo E Hybrid is out of the budget. Would have to be a regular 4 E-Hybrid. Or a used Sport.

So keep it on a platonic level? Check!

Buy whatever is the most calming.

I detect a note of sarcasm here lol

Don't paint it red then - stick to a sensible calming hew of green in a soft pastel or subtle white tint with subtle grey tones a green that invites you in with a messaging front seat - set it for self drive sit back close your a feel all the days tension release while listing to motzart and birds singing as you torque aimlessly down the road.

I'll keep the money and the mustang cause nothing moves people out of the way faster than the sound of the two M's - Mustang blasting Metallica. Lol you might have a torkey Tesla but only for ten minutes than its a half hour weight if you can find a free plug not being used ...lol

Are you suggesting people with red cars are not calm?

At least that's what I'm considering at the moment.

I have a 2012 Passat TDI that has the "fix". I can report nothing. Gets the same mileage, doesn't use anymore DEF. Drives the same. Very slightly more noise and shift points are slightly higher. Not to mention a huge warranty extension.

Maybe Ford will make an all electric Mustang by 2020-2021 LOL Seems odd but I'd line up for that.

Jettas are a different setup though, no DEF. Plus I'd be getting it tuned for other reasons, I was really just trolling a little.
