In usual fashion, Ford has left a few Easter eggs in marketing pieces that are leading some to believe that this motor will produce 772 HP.

Saw a YouTube where a guy who owns a GT350R approached his local dealer (California) and they told him he'd need to cough up $40K over MSRP to get one. If true...that's crazy!

I like it.

Looks awesome

But at $150K CAN with mark ups, I’m guessing I’ll never be behind the wheel of one.

Ever.

^^ always financing combined with line of credit, remortgage home , homeline line of credit etc ,if there is a will, there is a way
Make sure you get over draft protection for times you might have negative balance lol

Hell I see it now with millennials driving gtr or any 20 /30 somethings driving hundred grand vehicle

I still can’t get past the Maytag washing machine shifter and 2001 Honda Civic wing.

I am happy with my GT, and glad to not be one of those people that have the desire to get the latest thing. There is something amazing about being happy with what you have and not looking for the bigger better deal always.

Feel sorry for these kids/young adults today that always feel like they need to chase that.

I recommend NOT test driving the new GT500 then.

I get what you are saying. I am content with my $6,000 GT. I used the other $144,000 to buy a cottage.

You are correct!! Went for $1.1M US for charity!. BUT.....it's not the same as the car pictured in this thread, so now I'm wondering......which car is really the first production car to roll of the line.

Question: are Canadian dealers legally allowed to make ‘market adjustments’ and sell over MSRP?
Also, does anyone know when the Cdn pricing will surface......(not that it’s in my budget)?

You can now submit orders for them. Saw one ordered in the U.S for $88,885.00 USD and there was no dealer mark up on that. Expect 25k as mark up...

I've heard 75K base usd and 95K fully loaded usd. over the top stripes are a 10 grand option! lol.

I also heard it will be 131K CAD before tax.

That's a LOT of scratch!

Yeah, it was funny. I was freaking out asking the wife to start snapping pictures. She’s wondering what’s the big deal it was “just a couple of Mustangs.”
Very cool to see them on the road!

for those who state the rumour about HP is correct...
The gt500 - 2020 actually makes 790rwhp and 690tq :P
I said nothing, the engine will be able to produce well over 1000-1100 with simple pulley/e85/racefuel

And as we know the potential is only up who is willing to push it. but since the gt350 made 1300 with a twin turbo setup, I can only imagine what the gt500 with better rods and crank will do (y)

for those who state the rumour about HP is correct...

Source for this? Was there an article...or someone do a stock dyno run already?

Check this out (go to 6:30 of the video if you want the actual dyno numbers). Sounds like the advertised number is under rated....based on this actual dyno. I'm sure more will be coming from others soon.

oh I totally agree and yeah I seen this vid last week when it came out, that's good ol Speed Phenom's car but, that's a far cry from 790rwhp as stated above?? That's why I was wondering what the source was for that number...

Yup, SP is really taking advantage of putting out the content on his GT500.

Maybe Monera3v meant 790 HP @ the crank?, because there is no way a stock GT500 is going to produce that at the wheels. If they measured 705 at the Wheels in this example, that converts to approx. 805 HP @ the crank (15% drive train loss). That's a nice up tick over the quoted stock numbers for sure.

yep...no kidding...he just went up another 20K subscribers in like two weeks! Not bad for doing eff all and driving a couple cars around LOL

The 2019 GT350's were underrated as well, not sure if it's because of the new block that the 2019's now share with the GT500 or if they always have been but stock 2019's are dynoing at 580hp avg which is 55hp ish over Ford Rated

Very impressive car, but scary as hell that anyone with zero track experience can go 10s.

The cars built today have some much tech in them that anyone car run 10's, launch control, track control DBW, Torque reduction all play a roll in how these cars work.
BMW, Mercedes Audi have been doing it for years...…...

Not worried about the car but the driver. A first timer running 10s is scary for all involved.

I guy I know (acquaintance really) has a blue GT350 that has a Whipple on it and it made 850 to the wheels. Pretty serious numbers either way and crazy for a street car.

It's always seemed weird to me that, the Shebly Series cars start as GT's not actual 'Shelby' cars to start with... you have to go to Ford if you want one of those! LOL

I think the difference is in where the car is built; Ford builds a Shelby model in their plant and sells it thru their dealers, whereas customers have an option to have Shelby America take an existing Mustang (GT) and customizes it with various Shelby parts, aftermarket superchargers, eg. Kenne Bell in the Supersnake, in their facilities/authorized shops.

So the Shelby that comes from Ford is a real Shelby and the Shelby that comes from Shelby is not actually a Shelby...now the question is what makes a Shelby a Shelby???

Which car would you rather have..? One that’s undergone thousands of hours of severe testing to ensure reliable performance OR a car that’s ripped apart and put back together with a mishmash of parts AND has a huge price tag and performance that recent history has shown doesn’t live up to its name...?

Armen

I’m not sure what all is done to this one but it’s running 9.1 @ 154.

Lund tune, E85, seats out, drag wheels as far as I can tell.

Comments speculate a pulley, drag suspension, possibly a ported blower, also.

Why not? Breaks up the bright paint colours a bit. I like the black roof on my 17 GT, makes the car not quite so YELLOW!!!
