Hey guys,

My buddy is working on a 1981 Camaro Z-28. He's been trying to source out a Y-pipe Walker part no. 42566, but keeps coming up short like it doesn't even exist. The car is not in drivable condition to have this Y pipe made at a shop, tires are shot, plus it's not plated or insured.

Any help where he can find this piece or if it's even available, please let me know.
Thanks!

Google search shows no one has stock.
You try Camaro specialty store / shop for used?

Quick search, looks like a unicorn.
On upside, headers are cheap as are dual exhaust kits for that ride.

Would make sense, right... The owner wants to retain the original configuration.

I have a y pipe from a mid 70's caddy - that could work with a little tweaking - it's in excellent shape the car had has 80,000 on it - may need to find or use smaller flanged ends for factory camaro exhaust manifolds because this was on a big block - it's yours if you think it can work - the High Commander would love to see more junk disappear before we become featured on the Learning Channel's "Buried Alive"!

hoarders should get addicted to crack or meth. They'll sell off their stuff to feed the habit.

lol you have no idea how hard it is for me to get rid of nice steel...lol I even have some house trim made from pine that's over 100years old and I can't cut it up and burn it....it's actually pieces from a pantry I removed from and old home we lived in - I still have the pantry cupboard used some of the remaining trim and made it into a side board and I just cant get rid of the remaining pieces...it's another sickness I've been hoarding those pieces of pine for about 20years now hahaha holy

All 3 of my major suppliers are stating this part is discontinued and none of them have any stock of course.

He might have to get the car trailered to an exhaust shop and get something custom bent, if nothing turns up on eBay.

Thanks Lou for looking.

Yup, this will probably be the only option left to do, thanks Ed.
