Only got as far as Antigonish, Had the Big Spruce at the local Jungle Jims restaurant in New Glasgow.

2 more weeks in NB, picked these 3 up at Liquor NB.
Graystone is in Fredericton, the pictures on the cans caught my eye, the beer is excellent.
Loyalist City Brewing is here in Saint John, never had a Duplex IPA before, interesting flavour, very hoppy.

Not what I expected. Very dark for an IPA, colour of a Rickards Red. First sip tasted a bit burnt, but I guess that’s the hint of pineapple. Second sip ...already forgot, what?

I might chase it with a Sparklepuff and wake up Monday morning.

You've had a busy day - how was the first Orange Snail brew? I've had the Iron Pig before but it's been a while since I've tried their other selections at the brewery.

The Irish Red was actually very nice. Kinda sweet and definitely malty. Good first beer of the day. Not sure I’d want to drink it after a couple IPAs though.

Last of the beer from Iles de la Madeleine - this was a strong one and was saving it so figured Super Bowl Sunday was a good time to try it. It was surprisingly smooth and flavourful despite the alcohol which while noticeable, did not overpower the other notes.

I haven't had Hun as yet but I see that as more of a specialty/novelty brew as they try some new things whereas B&M is closer to their typical style.

The Hun is not that bad. It only had a slight honey/wildflower taste on the first sips. It was definitely more like their usual on the backend.

Pure. West. is the next up in our small batch IPA series. This brew is an ode to old school hop profiles, but balanced with a smooth mouthfeel and hint of haze. We’ve loaded it up with Simcoe, Cascade, and Amarillo. What’s not to love? A nice mix of melon notes and cedar, with a lingering bitterness and a label with extensive Simpsons jokes on it.

The Hazy IPA was excellent, not a bad one in the lot. Basically asked what did they have at the store, they didn't have at the LCBO.
Biggest selection I have seen at any craft brewer I have been to.

I like wine, but there’s no crazy experimental flavours with wine.. I’ve had lots of that too.
There’s fewer ingredients to play with with wine, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t endless combinations, styles, flavours, etc. Just like beer.

My tastes with beer have changed a lot over the years. You find what you like.
At first, I hated beer. But the only beer I was exposed to was what was in Dad’s fridge, Blue, Schooner, Lone Star.
When I started university in Waterloo I was exposed to Waterloo Dark. Completely different, this was something I could enjoy. From there I continued on darker beers.
I didn’t really like IPA’s, but there again it was because I never had a good one. After my sister bought a place in Vermont and started bringing home Heady Topper, I was like “ooo! I like this!”. From there, I’ve just been exploring tons of different IPAs. Some I like, some not so much. But since IPAs are so hop forward, it gives the brewer more licence and there ends up being a huge variety.

I personally find big brewery beers to be bland and more about the alcohol than the flavour, and their ingredients are geared toward their profit margin versus quality/flavour (kind of like shopping at Walmart versus a specialty shop that pays attention to the details).

Stuff used in big brewery beers (now or in the past) that I like to avoid: GMO Corn Syrup, GMO Corn, GMO rice, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Fish Bladder, Propylene Glycol, Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), Natural Flavors, GMO Sugars, Caramel Coloring, Insect-Based Dyes, Carrageenan, BPA

In regards to some bad craft beers, definitely have had a few but usually on first go round on a new beer, I only pick up single, limits your chances of getting stuck with a case

After seeing an earlier post on Orange Snail in Milton, dropped in and picked up Rattle n Nemo Amber Ale, and Jasper 16 IPA, the Jasper 16 IPA, is one of the nicest I have had in quite some time
Paired with a Reuben on Marbled Rye from a little place here in Oakville, Big Wolfs, run by a lovely young lady.

New brewery in St. Catharines, Cold Break Brewing. Had their ipa previously. Went today for lunch and the food is fantastic. So it the NEIPA.

New pale ale from Wayne Gretzky Craft brewery with some smoked sausage and jalapeño poppers. Didn’t like it, wouldn’t have it again. The original Rye Lager and the new Session Ale are good but this one would be a pass if the others were available.

Dessert/bedtime Imperial Stout. Super boozy and chocolatey. Would be great next to a campfire. Need some chocolate to go with it.

Furthermore… You Forgot to Mention BIGFOOT! A New England IIPA with mango. This well crafted NEIIPA showcases the Citra and Galaxy hops it was brewed with, which are known to provide notes of mango. They did. It also contains mango, which means it features lots of mango on both the nose and with each sip. At 8% and 40 IBUs, Bigfoot is not to be trifled with lightly.

RoboHop Imperial IPA, this one New England style... is not a beer to trifle with. Tropical fruits abound from the glass, which consist of passion fruit, guava, lemon with notes of white grape and evergreen mingling together. The full-bodied 8.5% Imperial IPA is very gentle on the palate, making it one sneaky bugger. Many of the aromas come through in the taste, resulting in a very pleasant juicy finish that’s slightly dry.

Farmer Srong Imperial IPA Collaboration with VQH Farms. Contains Ontario grown Centennial and Chinook hops. I used to drink Bud Light, Keith’s and the occasional Waterloo Dark. That was the extent of my beer drinking, if you can believe that. Then I was on some meds that limited my consumption to 1 or 2 a week and I figured if I can only have 2, I’m gonna have the good stuff and voila, craft beer Mike was born! [emoji1787][emoji1787]

Not bad for a first try but needs some more work - not as juicy as some of the DIPAs I've gotten used to and it has more of that typical IPA bitter hoppiness on the tail than others. I might have to pick up another for a second try.

LOL - it's not that bad! Some folks like the hoppier brews with some bitterness in the aftertaste but not my thing. Anyone that likes that hoppy bitterness will likely appreciate this one.

That's alcohol abuse!

My haul for the week.
Friday, working in Chatham, stopped by the Sons of Kent brewery.
Nice facility, excellent food.
Have tried the Doc's Lager, and the 8 Track XPA, very smooth. Haven't tried the Fergies yet, nice to see them honouring a local legend. Will check out the Hazy IPA Sunday.
Picked up 6 GLB Black lager today, not disappointed with the 1 I tried.

I don't think the day you drove up was a DIPA release day so they wouldn't have any left over from the release date. I have the February DIPA but picked that up mid-February, and the March DIPA isn't released as yet.

It’s growing on me. It’s different, so struck me as odd on the first sip. I think “lactose” was messing with head.
