So I've been searching the web for information on a crate engine.

All the feedback about going boosted & Coyote swaps, has got me looking into getting a motor built, that can handle some JAM.

MMR seems to have alot of choices for 2V motors, that they claim, are good for anywhere from 600hp to over 1,000hp.
All quality forged internals, crank, rods & pistons. Long blocks come with Trick Flow heads too. Starts around $7,000 USD.

Dunno if it's worth it to get mine built or just get 1 built & store my original motor.

Anyone recommend anywhere here & someone to talk too?

Keep in mind, I'm just gathering info. Wont be pulling ths trigger for a while. Just toying with the idea.

Owned my GT since new. It's fun to drive & I will not part with it! However, I've been plateaued with the power of it for a long time!

Best advice I can give you, figure out your end game (intended use / what range of h/p n torque am I aiming for / do I want NA, boosted or turbo? Etc) before you make the first move.

Probably go N/A for atleast a season until i can afford to boost it.

Whats the target / dream?

Whats the target / dream?I'd be happy with 500hp at the wheels but wanna ensure it lasts.

Litterlly only took it out 3 times this year. Did a few cruises & only once at Pete's. I dont track my car, will do the occassionally track day tho.

Would really like to road course it.

I want it reliable still with all accessories working. If I wanna drive to Woodward, I wanna be able too without a worry.

Eventually, I'd love to long haul a Hot Rod Power Tour too.

Guess I want the best of both worlds.....

Debated about supercharging GT/CS for a year. A member found one for me and didn’t do it. Went another direction.... Shelby was answer to more power for me.

Want an cake n eat it to build, check this idea out.

-KB blower and all the fixings that go along with it nets you around 400/400 at the tires. As I said before, while it may pale in comparison to whats "said" to be big power on the street, guarantee it'll put a smile on your face every single time you drive it.
-Know nothing about rest of your car but saw cool driver and roadcourse so let's look at that aspect n the following list.
~ Full Maximum Motorsports hit underneath, coil overs, Bilsteins, Panhard, Torque arm and at least Cobra brakes for the front (Caddy Brembo calipers look like a promising swap), maybe even a K member. Add to that a set of quality aftermarket seats and you'll be making excuses to drive it every chance you get.
Now your talking about a ride with great power and the good stuff underneath it to make it drive and handle like you never thought possible, yes this stuff takes your car to a level you never knew even existed.
Now you've got a slot car handling, big power and a car you can still drive anywhere.
Whats not to love?

Whats not to love?I agree with you Rick.

My car does have alot of suspension & brake mods already. Just missing the power.

Need to put together a plan & money to make the wants a reality.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThanks! I've always tried to keep her is good shape. Hard to believe it's got 129,000kms on the odometer!

Had it paint corrected & ceramic coated in August. Very happy with the results & highly recommend doing it.

If the blower n go on your stock engine isn't going to make the cut, next most affordable big power option is a full Termie drivetrain swap. That gives you the killer engine backed by a T56 trans. Even cooler if you include IRS at the same time. In stock form with pulley and a tune it's going to make 470ish at the tires on the stock blower with option of a Whipple or similar later. Reason I jumped to that vs doing a built engine then blower later, your stock trans would survive just fine for the blower n go idea but a boosted big h/p combo will see it fail in a very short time, Cobra stuff is good as is.
While getting harder n harder to find, still out there and many times can be purchased as a full drop out including all bits n pieces.

OR buy this car n rob the drivetrain, installed your stock GT stuff n resell.

This is my thinking as well, and the best of both worlds. Unless of course you want a big project and swap/resell another car, in which case the above advice is also an option. Not a lot of work for some, drop power train out the bottom on each car, finangle some wiring, etc....

Here’s my thoughts.

Sounds like you’ve decided your keeping the car SO build or install the drivetrain you want for it.
Once you decide...stick to it and move forward.

You obviously have several options...you just need to figure out which one is best for you and your budget.

While planning my Fox power plant build recently I didn’t even think about swaps (Coyote. Termy etc).
I’m stayin true to it’s roots and kickin it old school cause it’s what I like.

Part of me wants to just leave the GT the way it is & pick up a Fox body car & play with that!

Probably cost me way less!!!

You do realize how much a built motor cost right?
Then add a trans to support it and a power adder which I assume you will want.

And judging by your comment on the coyote swap you will pay labour to someone to install all of it
