Haven't driven the stang or anything else since Feb,15 due to a pos broken wrist.
A piss off considering the roads/highways are almost deserted and gas is much cheaper.

Saw a higher than usual number of OPP cars doing radar on the 401 yesterday, article below would suggest other areas doing the same, be x tra careful out there.

There may be fewer drivers on the streets as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic but Toronto police are handing out more speeding citations than usual.According to data provided to CP24, Toronto police officers issued 2,727 citations for speeding from March 15 to March 31, which covers most of the time that the province has been under a state of emergency.
The number of speeding tickets is up roughly 35 per cent from the same time period in 2019.

Toronto police cruiser is seen in this undated photo.

The rise in tickets issued for stunt driving, meanwhile, is even more significant.
Toronto police issued 65 tickets to drivers travelling in excess of 50 km/h over the speed limit over the last two weeks compared to 22 during the same time period in 2019. That translates into a 195 per cent increase.
Similar increases have also been reported elsewhere.
York Regional Police say that they have issued 60 per cent more tickets for stunt driving offences in March then they did during one year prior.

ZR

Would normally come away going it is what it is but it's hard to support a cruiser picking em off speeding down a hill when you see a constant conga line of trucks doing the limit with most spaced no more than one truck length behind one another (thank you Ont mandated speed limiters) which has also stepped up the actions of pin pong car n truck drivers trying to get around them. Is someone doing 15 or 20 over more dangerous / more important vs a situation where if one truck stabs the brakes hard there will be at least a couple or three run him over?? Same goes for how many radar traps we are now seeing in the city since the limit was dropped to 50k in many areas all the while the red light runners, double left and right turners, pin pong lane changers, high beams on and no lights on drivers are everywhere to be seen. Add to that it's rare not to see one or more cell phone / texters on even the shortest of runs to the store and a person walks away wondering wtf is going on. Don't get me started on lack of ride checks yet it would seem boozing n cruizing never stops making the news, have not seen one in years.

With less traffic on the roads, there's a lot more room to open it up....which is what I think may be happening. Easier for police to identify speeders I would think as well under low traffic conditions?

Definitely want to be a tad bit more careful out there if you're wanting to stretch your rides legs.....guess we'll all want to keep that in mind as we put our Stangs back on the road.

Here's the highlights of a letter i just recived from Carrier Sanctions and Investigations Office.

On March 24, 2020 Transport Canada released an essential freight transport exemption to allow relief from the requirements established under federal Commercial Vehicle Drivers Hours of Service Regulations.

Temporary Hours of Service Exemptions for all federally regulated carriers who operate in other provinces:

Temporary Hours of Service Exemptions for provincially regulated carriers who operate in Ontario only:

Temporary Exemption: Daily Inspection Requirements for all provincially regulated carriers responding to or in support of a declared emergency within Ontario:

Temporary Exemption: Speed Limiter Requirements for all provincially regulated carriers responding to or in support of a declared emergency within Ontario:

Not sure some of these are good ideas.

Not sure this is in the right thread.

Everything on the roads seems a little worse than before . Just because traffic is substantially less, people seem to be driving worse?? :(

Your local dealer won't have a unique 4V cooling system part on the shelf unfortunately. I took the liberty of looking one up based on the ID number on your old part. Anyway there is only one of them still showing available at the Canadian parts depot, and none in any Ontario dealers, also none in any of the USA depots. Motorcraft part number is RH-70, MSRP is $87.28 + HST.

Your local dealer should be able to order it for you overnight for Tuesday, assuming the one is actually there at the Bramalea warehouse. Occasionally we do see instances where only one shows available, but the shelf is empty when they go to pick the order.

If you can wait an extra day, I can try to get you that one from the Canadian depot through Parkway and then ship it over to you. We would receive it Tuesday hopefully if it's available, then send out by Loomis to arrive to you on Wednesday. Club pricing on that part will be significantly cheaper as the Motorcraft parts have enough margin for us to offer a good discount. Send me a p.m. through the Parkway Ford account here if you want to give that a go.

On the odd Cobra, after being dry stat can be an absolute biotch to open again, good idea to replace with new OEM Ford only.
Be sure to follow bleed procedure, yes even if all seems ok, smallest amount of trapped air will see it overheat without warning.

Flowmaster system on the Cobra is tame on the inside with only slight hwy drone making it comfortable for longer drives. Comfort further improved when I did Dynamat from back edge of the front seats all the way to the trunk panel.
When we did the 05 for Gary, first few drives, insanely loud n uncomfortable for anything beyond 1/2 hr or so. Did Dynamat from pretty much firewall back to the rear panel, difference was incredible, money well spent. Cool part, comfy inside, still sounds insane outside.

Had Stang out yesterday for little 1 hour drive to burn up fuel, down below 1/4 now. Stations just change over to summer fuel so waiting for 3 weeks then fill up.Summer-blend gasoline contains 1.7 percent more energy than winter-blend gas...The 4.10 gears with 28 inch tires seems like better combo then the 4.30, which was more jerky taking off...can still snap the gas and break tires losse accelerating in 3rd gear..
Now we wait and see how world turns...

I burned 1/4 tank fuel today driving to owensound and back like nobody hardly driving around...
I also had a headache...still got half tank to burn up..getting ready to May long weekend ....I'm in denial...camping, beer and drag racing...

I think we're all in denial, but getting ready to accept that the normal things we enjoy aren't likely going to happen this summer. sux for sure.

I hate to say it but I don't think any gatherings over 50 will be allowed this year...I'm think that is reality...but I hope not

I haven't had my Stang on the road since 2007. But I have had my Challenger on the road for 9+ years. Stop storing your shit people. You bought it, use it...

Jack, just curious did you sell your Mustang and replace it with the Challenger or do you still have both?

I sold my Mustang in 2007. We moved to a new house and it was time to do landscaping. My wife said here's my share, where is yours? I said give me a couple of weeks...

Bought the Challenger Feb 2011. Still hanging on until the Corvette may or may not arrive...

Not yet for me. Waiting on new radiator to arrive. The anticipation is killing me.

I drove Ol Paint for a couple of hours this weekend to use up the fall fuel left in the tank. Filled up with Ultra94 from the Petro Canada at Hwy9 and Airport Road ($105.9/litre)

Maybe this coming weekend to get my 17 out. Looks like the temps are finally going to stay at a reasonable number this week.

Mine is technically out but, I can't drive it because we had snow last week and the city hammered the streets with salt.... arrgh! Supposed to rain tomorrow. Hopefully, it will wash that shiat away.

Good to know. I haven’t been out lately.
