Here is an article that I found regarding this speedway. Unfortunately, it looks like it will never be built.

Wondered what became of it, a shame if it falls by the wayside.
Thanks for posting.

Didn't read the article yet but I remember the Guv put a stop to a ramp from the QEW and that seemed to be the final straw. That and land/permit issues.
Sad really. IIRC it would have had seats for 60k plus. The GUV really does f-up shit.

With the current economy, and what it could be like for the next several years, they might have trouble filling many of those potential seats anyway. Sure would have been nice to have another track in our neighbourhood.

Well, they only have until September to apply for a building permit, otherwise, it's over and done.

That's too bad. Sure sounds like this is a dead project. I have to believe that if built, it would be a good money maker. Proximity to US and GTA would make it easy to visit.

Glad I still have CTMP within 20 mins. of me.

Not to divert the thread, but I was talking to my cousin and we were discussing how soon before there is an all electric ( Tesla etc.) series? You wouldn't need ear muffs!

They already exist. Jaguar-Ipace (supporting event) and Formula E. Though it would be a cool to have a series with electric vehicles from different manufacturers competing against each other, like an electric version of the Daytona GT series.

I don't think it would have been a money maker - even before the pandemic. Most of the financials I've seen for facilities/circuits we are familiar with are pretty thin and would make access to funding/credit on good terms, difficult.

I am just thankful we have a world class track like Mosport nearby
