Neighbour had a 2012 SRX that he sold and now wants to sell me his snows , I year old in mint condition with Caddy Rims, from the dealership, ( paid a fortune for them)

#1 ~ tires are exactly what i have on now 235~65~18 , on a 8J X 18 ET50 rim , according to the caddy site ,

Will the SRX rim fit my car ? the rims according to caddy site says they are a 8J X18 ET53 rims, would the 3 mm affect anything ?

Hub size is the same and so are the nuts and thread sze .

#2 can u add TPM system to that rim ? or can they be added to any rim ???

How much approx to add them ??

Many Thanks , :oldman:

Is it illegal not too have them in a car that is equiped to have them ?

3mm could affect caliper clearance with the wheel - TPM usually mounts with the air nipple can fit any rim - don't know enough about caddy's but something to look into

3 mm probably won't matter too much, certainly not for how it drives. Can you give them a test fit on one side before buying? TPMS is not mandatory to have in Canada. Many Asian cars that are Canadian market vehicles differing from USA spec don't have them even now.

Test fit at the moment is not possible, they are in storage etc, its a leap of faith, but will see them before I buy them, just looking too make sure they FIT !
Would the 3mm actually add to the clearence of the caliper etc ? meaning if a 50mm fit then a 53mm would fit for sure ? an I thinking this right ????

It should be fine. Does your rim currently clear the caliper by more than 3 mm? If yes then proceed. :)

53mm offset vs. 50 means it tucks in tighter to everything, so less brake clearance potentially depending on how the face of the wheel is shaped.

I can get 4 fingers inbetween my present rims and the caliper and the rears have even more room , (smalller caliper ?)
