I just got back into it after selling the foxes. I picked up an Arrma Senton and Granite BLX 3S and have a new Infraction 6S on order. Very addictive, already modded the crap out of my short course truck and to be honest I have more "seat time" in the RC stuff than I do my notch this year lol.

I have an old RC somewhere. Sadly it is an electric buggy.

The newer electric stuff can get pretty nuts. I have a electric HPI Trophy Flux truggy on 4s. Bone stock and plenty fast.
Had a nitro monster truck but was a pain in the ass to get it to run right.

Yep, had similar experiences here as well. Still have my Kyosho Nitro Brute around somewhere. Only issue with the electrics is keeping the batteries in good condition.

Member needforboost (Kyle) on here is an RC'er.

Lets see some pics of these machines guys.
I was into RC cars about 30 years ago but have since sold off everything (might have one nitro engine left somewhere). I still think they are cool and would love to get back into them, just need to make the time to do so.

The big thing a the moment is R/C No Prep racing you can start with a Traxxas Bandit, Rustler, or 2WD Slash change a few parts and build a drag car, or Team Associated makes a RTR or a kit drag car those are the big players in the game. I built this with Traxxas Slash, Bandit and 4Tec parts a custom chassis Pro-Line wheels and tires and body, oh and a custom wheelie bar...

It’s good to invest in a pro level charger. The new spektrum smart series take some of the guesswork out of it.

I fly RC planes and have a couple of cars too.
These are some of my planes, apparently I don't have a more recent picture. This was a few months after I started...
21358

Way back when, my dad bought a Tamiya Frog (the original 1980s, not the remake that was launched a few years ago).
21359

After playing with the Frog, I bought a Losi XXCR, and fast forward to 2 years ago, I bought a Arrma Typhon 6S.
21360

As did my dad:
21361

I have an old Tamiya TA03 on road car with a BMW Z3 body, as well as a crawler that I have setup to use with my FPV gear (which is also used with my quads/drones):
21362

I bought a Spitfire kit went I was in highschool of course back then it was a balsa wood kit that you had to cut all the pieces out put them together then wrap the frame, got it home took it out of the box looked at the blueprints said No Way in Hell can I do this put it back in the box sold it about 2 years later to a neighbour's kid the had a plane...

I have 2 balsa.
One is a E-flite Taylorcraft BC-12D, and the other is a Cessna 172.
The Taylorcraft I bought used off a buddy I fly with, and the Cessna I bought brand new last October.
I put the Cessna together over the winter, but have yet to fly it.
Also bought a Yak 130 jet that I have yet to fly too.

I'll stick to the ground for now tried boating twice there both somewhere in Lake Ontario, I didn't a recovery option for either when things went wrong...

I wanted back in the day and still do a Tamiya Bruiser, it had a 3 speed trans, 2wd, than 4WD, and last 4WD Low, it had and RS-750 motor when most R/Cs had only RS-540 then. The truck was meant to look like an early 80's Toyota Hilux with like 33's on it but it was the same size as a Clodbuster from the same time... Here's a video of 15 of them pulling a real Toyota Hilux.

Today, it is a LOT easier to get into flying.
Most planes are foam these days, and just need to be assembled, not built (and most of the time, can be glued back together after a crash).
Also, the flying itself can be self taught, as the planes have technology built right into them to teach.

I'd love to have the skills to fly this bad boy...

Thinking Christmas this year might be a decent RC car for each of the kids

They are 8 and 10. Want something decent without breaking the bank

Off road style would be best as they have lots of trails in the Bush to drive them threw.

Don’t want something that uses standard batteries. Prefer a rechargeable pack. They are tearing threw double A’s like crazy right now driving around a couple little ones I gave them.
Any suggestions?

Any of the name brands are good...Traxxas, HPI, Losi, Tamiya. I have a prefference for Traxxas as parts are easy to get and price is decent.

Yup, that is so true. Running 2s Lipo, my HPI Flux will do between 90-100km/h in stock brushless form. It’s truly a beast
