The small Ford Maverick car from the 1970s is being rebooted as a small pickup truck in 2021, which is exciting news for Ford truck lovers (and there are a lot of them). But the most recent reports and spy shots from Ford Authority indicate the vehicle may be available exclusively in crew-cab guise and not as a regular cab or long bed.
That should be fine for the majority of shoppers who would opt for that setup anyway, but may push those looking for a smaller base work truck back toward the F-150. Engine options include a turbo 1.5-litre EcoBoost Dragon three-cylinder; and a turbo 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder, likely paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission powering the front two, or, as an option, all four wheels.
