Well that's not as ugly as most.

A deadline should never be set for a machine with such size and damage/killing capability.

Still nervous on the self driving car idea. My wifes VW Gulf with all the proximity sensors, goes crazy with alarms when they get built up with snow and ice.

All cars with front parking sensors will do that. Just hit the button on the dash or console to turn if off. IT will go off again when you stop however. Best to pull over and clean them sensors which is what I do.

Agreed, but usually happens on the highway so not too safe to pull over. The self driving car would need back ups to this I would think.
I am going to keep my hands on the wheel as long as I can!

Depending on what level of autonomy they want to achieve that's pretty attainable unless they mean a full level 5 autonomy. I feel like that's still a decade out at least.

to go with the iPhone key - I had musing of throwing my phone in the trash and going into complete Cognito recently, but I don't think that will be an option for me or anyone in the near future - the phone will be identity to perform all of life tasks....
