Dental implant advice

As above, had several molars extracted lately and now the decision as to what to do , my dentist is pushing for implants , assuming that I can take the bone graff etc, sound like it gets really involved quickly, cost is 3-4 G's per tooth ?? no guarantees , option 2 is a partial plate, I have an upper now and hate it , 3rd is a bridge partly covered by my wife's insurance, but it is attached to what teeth I have left and put additional strain and then they may go ??? any advice would be helpful keeping in mind my senior years and have some health issues, Thanks in advance, G>

After the ordeal you know I went through with tooth extractions, opted to leave as is and have had no complications or regrets.

I had implant molar 15 years ago , need another one but due to covid I decided to reschedule...not funny but my second one is only needed because the pulled the wrong one out...ya they thought it was tooth with sensitivity issues...it was the tooth behind it...not impressed. But of course the cost will be on me...

One of my top front teeth which was a crown broke just over a year ago, I was getting ready to go with the implant since I don't like my other 2 options. Then covid hit and now I've had a tooth missing for too long.

I'll be going with the implant since it's a better choice for when you're over 50 but the cost sucks.

Close relative had an implant. Was a process but now that it is done that have zero issues or limitations as such. Cost is higher sure but quality of life is everything.

Molar's are more of a challenge, need bone grafts etc, and as mentioned its a long time in the chair !

I'll ask. Pretty sure he had to go through 4-5 sittings, there was a bunch of work that had to be done over a year.

My friend had implants beforehand but were in there a long time but started to get infected again after 25-30 yrs now. She had to get the implants removed, cleaning was done below the gum line and some bone grafting was done as well before going back to the implants. All in all it took almost 5 months for her.

I work with a guy that had his from tooth knocked out by a swinging gate at top of a fixed ladder at work. Anyway for now every time he eats he pops this fake tooth out before eating and back in afterwards. The implant tooth cost would have been paid for by company but the surgeon refused to perform implant procedure because he is a heavy smoker....this guy is not a quitter!!!

still have my oem teeth - yanked a few bads ones in the back on my own - I avoid the dentist like the plague....lol

Back at the dentist for a look see after the BIG PULL< , says the hole is big enough that I need to have surgery to have part of my jaw (bone) put into place and heal before they can try implant , SORRY but TRY ,that's a BIG NO , for now its more healing then onto a partial plate to get me eating normal food again ! sure looks like a bridge is in my future $2500 bucks worth ~

Glen, we are throwing out a big Cuisinart Blender that we don't need.
I'm happy to donate it to you for free. Then you can throw all your food, regardless of what it is, in there and blend it up, then drink with a straw. Presto: problem solved. Teeth no longer needed.
Free blender vs $3-4000 for an implant= no brainer.

I had a molar implants 2 years ago, and well worth the cost and time. I had root canals that were done in the 70's and had problems with infection and crowns loosening. Implant feels like a natural tooth, and chew without any worries of damaging the crown.

I was lucky, no erosion of the bone, so he was able to just drill and tap it.

The bone graft I had was not because of erosion it was because the molar teeth the deep roots
leave a wafer thin layer of bone near the sinus cavity. If break through into sinus cavity complication
will arise.....

Hearing aids as well, $2500-4000 per ear, product is obsolete in 5 years. Costs about $75.00-100.00 to produce. The dispensers don't make a killing on these but the manufacturers do.
