is a New 2019 Roush RS3 Mustang worthy of a $70,000.00 price tag?

Roush depreciation will resemble that of a stone thrown in a lake as it is really a GT with a body kit and a bolt on supercharger. buy it for 70g now and wait 5 years when you sell it 3 generations of Roush later for 35gs on a good day. GT350 being factory built limited production with the flat plane crank, journo accolades to boot I'd bet your never going to get less than 45-50k when it comes time to dump for the next one.

Look, if you straight up love I mean head over heals love the Roush, sounds like its the buggy for you and I suggest you do what makes you happy and fuck all our opinions. Personally I wouldn't buy ANY tuner Mustang that isn't OEM build, I just don't see the return on investment for me over buying my own and adding the parts I want.

Do what makes you happy doesn't matter what anyone says. You are only here once so do it if you can. I mean look what I did but it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. That is what counts!

I would highly recommend you go 2017/18 GT350. It’s a special car. The Roush is a Mustang GT with American Muscle parts thrown at it. That’s not a bad thing, but it’s not a GT350.

I have a friend that has been one of the lead engineer's that has worked on the Roush built mustangs, since the s550. The amount of detail and engineering that went into that car would be way more then a GT with a supercharger put on it.

They have unique spring/shock combo's with unique mag ride settings to accommodate for the weight of the supercharger.

If you are going to the track more, maybe the GT350 would be the better car... but 700horsepower from a PD blower would knock your socks off.

Although a GT 350 is a very nice ride and one can't dislike what it was built for, on the other hand the Roush is bad ass as well, IMO id go with the Roush as it's different and packs great performance!!

I like the Roush. Good reputation and stand out from the GT crowd. And there's nothing like a blower to push you to the back of your seat feel....and of course the whine!

If you're not tracking it, you don't have to worry about heat soak, but if you want to get into the track game, and drive it hard, you either up the cooling capabilities (more $$) on it, or go with a NA car like the PP2 or GT350, with the later more likely to hold hits value (if you care).

Exciting either way Steve. Go for it! Promise you'll let your coffee night buddies go for a spin with you.

I'm sure you've read an article or two on the car, but here's one I thought was good.

I agree with Gr8. I personally would choose a 350 hands down any day ....because I would actually track it. I can’t understand not tracking a 350. So if you’re not going to track it, I don’t understand getting a 350.

That's good, protect the motor, but won't solve the SC heat soak issue (tracking the car).

Adding a oil cooler also helps keep IAT's down which result in less heat soak issues at the track.

That's good, protect the motor, but won't solve the SC heat soak issue (tracking the car).

As Ross said, oil cooler takes a bunch of load off the cooling system which results in lower coolant + ambient temps and much easier to control IAT's. Was just a theory when we tested on my own car, fact when it went from barely a handful of laps before threatening to boil over to hold it to the floor all day long no matter the outside temps.

IMHO There's a GT350 on every corner. How many Roush mustangs have you seen. It's a good deal and it's the same price as a used possibly tracked and beaten GT350. Can't go wrong.

Is this the one at Taylor Ford?

Just a couple of things to point out...

The Taylor Ford ad banner lists it as a 2019 GT Premium. But if you click on the window sticker, it’s a GT base with the 301a pkg, Performance Pkg and Nav. The total MSRP on the sticker is $49,639. There is no magneride on this car. With the Roush pkg added, they have the car listed at $72,879.

If you build a 2020 GT base with 301a, Performance Pkg and Nav, it gives a total MSRP of $43,290 ($7000 delivery allowance).

So the 2019 Roush is $29,589 more expensive than the 2020 GT base 301a with the same factory OEM options.

Just food for thought.

when it was first built just over a year ago with markup they were asking mid 80's dropped down to 77g at the beginning of the year, just dropped at the end of last summer to $72,879 and I got them down to 70.They will leave it in the showroom until spring when mine comes out of storage.
