I thought these were the good ones... Flowtech stainless steel shorty headers. Brand new from the box.
Is this to be expected? Are these welds even any good?

That is just crappy quality control, totally rediculas.

That sucks. I bought Chinese knockoffs of BBK headers. The welds are actually better than the BBK and only cost a third of the price.

Are you able to get an exchange on the headers?

Looks like Ray Charles welded those with his feet in the middle of an earthquake.....

I emailed the parent company, Holley. Waiting for a response. Honestly they seem really nice except for the holes, which is the most important part of exhaust.

I’m sure a company as reputable as them would do an exchange. You’d think they’d QC it before selling it.

I only see one hole there, would be pretty easy to swing by an exhaust shop and ask them to seal it up, might not even charge you, even if they do it would be $20 max. Welding inside a tube like that isn’t exactly easy though, and nobody sees it so as long as it’s sealed you’re good.

I agree. Shouldn’t have to fix something new.

The first pic hole is dead center. Easier to see in person. The last 2 pics are just to show welds. I agree probably an easy fix, and maybe less hassle than exchanging. I’ll see what they say.

If they are ceramic coated which I think they are I'm not certain welding over top coating that results would look very pretty or effective.

They're uncoated, polished 304 Stainless Steel

For anyone interested, I exchanged the headers. New ones look free of holes and welds look cleaner.

Some of you may have seen my post that these new flowtech headers didn't clear the steering shaft. By a long shot, they were pressing into the shaft. So exchanged for the ever popular BBK shorties. What is happening with QC these days!>?!?!?!?!?24242

Going by reading in the past Flowtech is not a quality brand to begin with.

My last pic were bbk. The 2nd pair of Flowtech's I got were mint, perfect welds. The primaries were just way too big for the car and the steering shaft.
