Back in the day I had an acquaintance who had one. He called it a Merker. Absolutely Loved it.

I still remember being at the All Ford Nats at Carlisle in 2005 -- the Merkur club was using the event as their national meet for the 20th anny of the cars in North America. There were roughly 110 Merkurs in attendance that weekend including 15 or so from the Ontario chapter. Mostly XR4Ti with some Scorpios in the mix too. Quite the sight to behold!

Prefer the European version of them. Ford Sierra. Especially the Cosworth :love-struck:

I had a 1988 Merkur. I loved that car but parts were hard to find. A lot of people were surprised by the power it had when they went for a ride.

I was looking in ah back in the day at this vehicle. Thought it was the ultimate rocket...and at the time it was. I went few times to look at it in the show room...
