Had my GT since new, 2006, some guys here know it. Managed to track it at Mosport, Cayuga, Shannon, drive to Woodward a few times, take her out on rides/cruises etc etc and always missed the rain. Well, almost. I took it to work today to scrub in the new Nittos and the skies dumped on it in the parking lot. That's probably the 10th time in it's life  At least i wasn't driving through it, that would be a major clean for which I don't have the time or energy right now.

No, it's not a shelf queen. Well, it is a bit I guess, but there's nothing wrong with loving/caring for your toy right ?

You don’t know what you’re missing. Little rain at Mosport ....4-wheel drift through turn 2...good times

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I try so hard to avoid driving mine in the rain but inevitably, get caught on the rare occasion, and don't like it at all! LOL!

Rain day is my “car wash” day and it’s free

While I appreciate mine when clean, don't melt in the rain.

Could care less about rain.
Car gets wet when you wash it.

Rain does suck if you get caught in a serious downpour/storm and you can't see well through the windshield.

^^^only a problem for those with the windshield-wiper-delete mod.

Ordered my 2018 GT on a rainy day in April picked it up from the dealer on a rainy day in June. Went to its first car show and it rained on the way there. However with the ceramic coating, on it, you’d almost not realize it was rained on.

While I do avoid the rain when possible, I’m no longer worried about it. Just gives me some extra time with one of my mistresses in the garage cleaning them.

LOL... found out the hard way on a cruise down to Woodward. Hit a quick down pour just on the other side of the border. luckily, my windshield was RainX'd. Now, I put the wipers on for long trips. :o

My cars have always been driven everywhere, any time. Rain, snow, mud, dust, construction sites, off road(well: bumpy fields), whatever. I don't buy cars to put them under bright lights in the garage and sit in a garden chair, looking at them. Cars are meant to be driven.

I try to avoid driving it in the rain only as I would like to avoid the cleanup. However if it gets caught in the rain or I really need to use it that day then so be it.

My car stays out side all summer. I just put a cover over it to avoid direct sunlight and a lot of water pooling on it. I love cleaning my car, gives me an excuse to leave the house for a couple of hours.

I remember when I used to care. Not caring is so much better

My Jag has been sitting, under cover, in my mother-in-law's underground parking since December,

Agreed. You buy these things to be driven. While I understand if you washed your car then it gets rained on it sucks but to not drive it at all if it rains?

Some of us have OCD and prefer not to drive our garage queen's in the rain, especially when the underside is also detailed. Perks of owning a hoist. :)

The issue I have in the rain .Is my air filter is in the front fender well and it will vacuum up water like a hoover. Through the supercharger into the intercooler. Up the charge pipe then and only the the maf shuts me down. So yes I feel your pain. Keep it dry.:mechanic:

Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey
Whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky.

Rain is a good thing.

You would be surprised how much water it doesn't pick up. Same set up on my Cobra, drove home from the track a few years ago with rain coming down so hard most could barely do 60kph, water deep enough it was buffeting against the floor, car had no issue.

I remember that day. The rain was intense and the highway was like one big puddle.

One of the more intense downpours I've ever driven through. Nittos did well.

One time I had just left Montreal at night in the Civic Si and it started pouring hard. Everyone slowed down except me. As I had Bridgestone RE-01R tires on at the time. Loved those tires.
