IRS Clunk

So since installing the FTBR bushing kit I've developed a clunk in the rearend.
It was probably there all the time but masked by the OEM bushings.

Noise always seems to come from the PS rear. Happens backing up, going forward, and the odd time between shifts.
I have gone thru and checked all the torque on the bolts, everything is tight.
Driveshaft angle is good.

How can I check the halfshafts for play? Do they need to be out of the car?
What about the diff/clutch packs? Anyway to check without tearing it all apart.

A good number, including my own, built with floor / tunnel panel that does not have bead rolls done correctly or none there at all. If that, noise is typically not there when vehicle is cold, does it worse the hotter the day or miles driven.

Most on the web say to make the 9/16 front cradle bolts fit so tight they thread through the body holes, we've seen that create noise.

If it is just the floor is there a fix for it or is it something you have to live with?

Sound deadener helped a bunch but it' didn't last long.

Regular rear gear slop is magnified when the diff is mounted solid as well.

The minute I beefed up my rear end was the minute my torque boxes developed a tear and needed to be reinforced and welded. Not saying it's the same case for you but I'd give my torque boxes a check.

Well figured out my clunk, my mistake when assembling the front diff brace. I tightened the two bolts that hold the LCA/diff brace before I tightened the 2 that hold the diff to the brace. They looked tight but I guess under load there was enough play for it to move.
Anyways ride nice and quiet now.
