I always had a sweet spot for a Vic, especially those with a manual trans swap.

i remember reading years ago that there was a limited number run of Crown Vics ordered and build for highway patrol in the US. if i recall correctly they came with something special under the hood

That is not true at all. Ford wouldn't go to the trouble of certifying a special engine for a small amount of orders.

Might be thinking of the P71 cars which had a slight bump on power vs a regular Crown Vic but not a totally different motor or anything.
