Have hawk hp+ for rear track pads. Have used them for years without any issues until my last 2 sets.
Had one pad break the edge off after one use. Hawk warrantied them no problem. Now the new warrantied set broke worse then the first failure. 2555925560
So I think I’m going to switch brands

almost looks like an adhesive failure or possible bad core with an uneven mounting surface...

Seems like hawk quality has gone to shit, the older pads were much better, last set of hp+ I got was packaged wrong and I got all outboard pads, they refunded my money and told me
To keep them pads.
I have since switched to raybestos st-43 pads

Is it the same pad location each time? Maybe you have a bad caliper on the one side?

pads are opposite. most recent one was the drivers side out side pad (leading edge). the other is broken like it was on the other side(also the leading edge)
both calipers were rebuilt recently by Jon Stewart Power Brake.

Didn't pads come with discount coupon for this?

Where are Hawk pads made?
I was thinking of using the street version in the future but after reading this probably not.

Apparently they are made in USA

For all around street pads with no bad manners, been using EBC Reds in everything we own. While they start off dirty for first few miles, settle down producing excellent feel and braking power with little dust and to date all have been dead nuts quiet with zero squeel.

I remember the factory original front pads on my 89 separated from the backing plate on both sides.
I think they were riveted but not sure.

I had one bonded drum brake lining separate from the shoe.
The brake shoes were from Ford.
Guess it happens.
