Looking to replace brakes on my trusty F250 diesel crew. I tow a 15000lb fifth wheel with it. I am looking at either Power stop Z36 kit with 4 drilled and slotted rotors and Z36 carbon fibre ceramic pads. This kit is a hair under $1000 on amazon. The other option I am thinking of is EBC green stuff 7000 series front and 6000 series rear pads and a set of random coated rotors. The EBC rotors are insanely expensive at over a grand just for the rotors. The EBC pads and coated random rotors are just over 825 bucks. Any other suggestions? Not looking to go to larger or very spendy stuff.

For most of the stock applications like yours, using OEM pads n rotors. Seeing zero extra life out of coated rotors.

Looking for extra bite from the brakes for the camper. I just like less rust from the ecoat on the rotors. Lately Motorcraft stuff has been shit.

I’m running the EBC greens on my Frontier. Good pads, but haven’t noticed a difference under normal everyday braking. Brakes are pretty good on the Frontier. Haven’t had to push them to the limit.

So far, been underwhelmed with EBC truck specific pads, used em twice.

My go to pads for my daily drivers is raybestos eht, can be bought for cheap on rock auto, have noticeable increase in stopping power when towing 2 sleds in a trailer. Use the rotors of your choice with fresh fluid.

Just FYI, Ford does offer a severe duty line in the Motorcraft pads that typically work well on towing and heavy load applications, at a reasonable price. I do know that they can be a bit tougher on rotors than the OEM pads though.

Thanks for all the input. I guess Ill have a bit more shopping to do. I'll order my rotors though.
