I'm thinking of trading my Jaguar in. It's a lovely car and I thoroughly enjoy it but for many reasons (chief amongst them I have a lot of trouble getting out of it with my bad hip) i'm looking to sell.
I'm not sure I want another GT so I'm looking at a 4-banger Vert. Anyone have the 4-cylinder and if so what do you think?

Don't do it , you will regret not having a 5.0 , even if it is for resale value !

is a Mustang going to be much easier to get in and out of than your current ride?

FWIW, I've had Ecoboost cars for demos, and enjoyed them as a summer DD. If you don't mind not having the V8 soundtrack they're certainly fine, and have decent power with great fuel economy. On one trip that was mostly highway I was seeing better than 7L/100 km out of it.

Maybe an F Pace would be a better choice for you.

Hmmm 550 hp -4 secs? Should be easy on the hip to get in but sore in the wallet.

That thing handles like it’s on rails. I wanted one before and test drove it. It was phenomenal but my wallet was crying. LMAO!

How did we go from an Ecoboost Mustang to a Jaguar SUV? IF I was going to buy an SUV I'd be looking at a Genisis GV70. However, as mentioned, I REALLY don't want an SUV.
I've been looking at a Kia Stinger, or maybe a Genisis G70 sedan. Both great cars, and both within my budget. Thing is, I don't really want to give up the convertible capability. So what's out there? Mustang. Camaro (I'm not a Chevy guy), BMW, Mercedes, Audi. Lexus.

The german cars and the Lexus are out of my price range, and none of them really turn my crank anyway. Wouldn't touch a Chevy. So for a vert that leaves Mustang. With the cost of gas these days, and the fact that I'm planning to at least semi retire, A Mustang ecoboost makes some some sense. My Jag averages 30+ miles per gallon, and my wife's Fusion hybrid routinely gets 50 MPG, so as Mr. Turd-o' carbon tax goes up and gasoline gets very dear I have to think about that too.
Which is why I've asked for your experience with the 4 banger motor.

Well, if you didn't say bad hip I would not have said what I said. Please think that a car will not make a difference because they are low slung. No need to be so sensitive about things please.

I wasn't being sensitive. I took no offense. i just don't want an SUV. As it happens, I can get into a Mustang with no problems.

As it happens, my rich brother has an F-Pace. But, he also has a Corvette convertible and a Jeep Wrangler so he has the necessary toys. .

We had a Murano some years ago. Terrible car. terrible service.
The Evoque is still an SUV. Not my cup of tea.

Drove one, came away impressed enough that if the PP2 had not come along would have one for track day.

Rented one in Vegas and drove it up to Utah for a few weeks. Automatic(electronic gear shifting) and turbo and convertible it was. Great fun zipping along on mountain roads in quick elevation changes and curves, light on it's feet. Never had the grunt, thrust or sound of the V-8 though.
Now I've found what you need:

I rented a coupe in Florida about 6 weeks ago, it was fun & comfortable but still wished they had a GT available.

Why don't you go rent one for a day or 2 and see if it's right for you?

Let's see now. First, rip off that gawdawful "wood" trim.
Then, some humongous sticky summer tires on 22" wheels. Next, tear out the sweet little 4-banger and put in a Hellcat crate motor (not the Elephant motor: the standard 700 horse version should be sufficient). Then paint it satin black. Should be good to go.

Actually that's a great idea. I'm surprised I didn't think of it
