View Full Version : Wheel Refinishing Recommendations

Looking for a wheel refinishing shop.

Currently have a set of 20" Sport Trac Adrenalin Wheels, that came with my 2008 Ford Explorer Limited.

Previous owner plasti dipped them satin black. Dont mind the look, however, rims are severely corroded.

The Plasti Dip must have been on there for a while cuz it was a nightmare to remove. Does not just peel off BTW!

Can't decided between putting them back to the polished factory finish, or get them blasted & powder coated.

I've used Flashfire coatings, in Courtice, before & am happy with their work. It'll cost me approx $400 to get them blasted & powder coated.

Can anyone recommend a shop to get a quote on getting these rims polished back to OEM?

Gonna compare pricing & decide from there.

Pics show how I bought the truck, 1 wheel that I stripped & what the OEM finish looks like.

Appreciate any suggestions.

That seems like a screaming deal to have them blasted and then powdered for $400.

You can try Carcone's just to get a price comparison

Last wheels I had done at Carcone's, sub par result, poor value for premium cost.

I would recommend Leprecon as well and I agree with what Rick said.

Leprecon did a great job and turn around time was great.... Price was decent (1 rim)....you get what you pay for.

Last wheels I had done at Carcone's, sub par result, poor value for premium cost.

I would not use these guys again

Dropped my rims off at Flashfire Coatings this morning.

Will post pics next week, when I pick them up!
