It looks like we lost the original thread, so let’s get it going again.
I’ll start :

I picked this up at Home Depot today. It was on sale for $29.99 (tool only).

Sleds load staggered which is why 7' wide works (also means sorta fits down the driveway). At a hair over 1200lbs it's pretty light. We just need to add ski guides and track mats n she's ready to roll.

Bought a bench belt sander to true up the flanges on the headers. RYobi was $148 at Home Depot, every other sander costs more for some reason. 80 grit worked extremely well. Didn’t have to take off too much material. Both flanges are flat. Used 2 different levels and a flat MDF board to check. Won’t have exhaust leaks plus I’ll be using MAHLE multi steel gaskets.

For brake bleeding, a little teflon tape on the bleeder threads really helps.

wouldn't you have to pull the bleeder screw right out to get the teflon tape on the threads?
By then, gravity will have mostly bled the brakes for you ;)

That’s a good idea. I actually put some Sil Glyde around the top thread, not on the thread, so that air can’t get through when bleeding since the vacuum can pull air out of the hole.

Since the headers have no shielding on them, I worry the heat might mess things up.

Is it overkill? Yes. Am I happier knowing certain things are protected from the heat? Yes.

Also torqued the nuts on the headers again since it’s been through a heat cycle. Less than a quarter turn for each nut. Will check again in a week.

First trip today. About an hour and a half drive but no highways.

Much smoother ride in terms of smoothing out the jerks and bangs when on rough roads and things like rail way crossings.

The car hauler is absolutely going to get the same wet bolt kit but I don’t think the upgraded Center shackle is a necessity in that. But for Travel trailers it’s fantastic to help eliminate the bangs that knock things loose. Have a light shade over the table that falls off every time we go anywhere. So far on this trip it’s stayed in place.

So far thumbs up.

I think they will work on any tandem axle. But I only really see than advertised to travel trailers. Anything to help the bread not get squashed and the beer shaken up. Lol.

Smoother ride is always a plus. But Unless your buying cars like me where your worried about parts falling off on the way home. Not really that much of a benefit. That being said I think it was under 600 for both the shackle and the wet bolt upgrade. So if you do a lot of hauling sure wouldn’t hurt.

built myself a cargo trailer 15 or so years ago and used these torflex axles - night and day to spring ride —you probably don't have the room but if you can increase the tire size to 225 or 235 70 series that will make a big difference and increase the load rating —can also buy the torflex ends now —used my trailer everyday for a little more than a week when we moved and it still drives nice (Haven't used it in over ten years) —made a mistake not making it longer to haul cars and now too lazy to stretch it...

Here's my review for my Prime day purchase of 2 Samsung S22 256GB phones. Needles to say I was less than impressed.

Bought 2 Samsung S22 on prime day From Amazon not 3rd party sellers. I received my order and much to my surprise instead of nearly $2000 worth of phones I got a $49 speaker. I promptly contacted customer service and was advised to send pics. I did and got a reply to return the item for a refund. I do not want a refund. I want the phones I bought. Since it was now several days later the phones were now $100 each more. Amazon flatly refused to send the correct items even after 11 emails and at least 6 phone calls. I had a brief moment of hope today as I got to speak to Tom a customer service manager. Sadly he was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in a supervisory position. He could only recite a few sentences from the training manual regarding returning my item. He then impolitely said if that's all I can help you with today then I am going to end this call and hung up. I received a return label by email and much to my surprise I had to pay for return shipping of the Item that I never ordered. This is the most disgusting service I have ever received from any company I have dealt with. So here I am with out the 2 phones i needed to replace 2 broken phones. I have just spent $30 to return a speaker I didn't order and have a $2000 charge on my credit card that may take up to 30 days to be refunded. I am currently wondering why I am paying $100 a year to be treated like garbage. Shame on you Amazon. Jeff Bezos, The richest man on the planet you should be disgusted with yourself and your company.

Do some digging online. I hate the “hold the button to back up without Turing off the blades Bs”. On my JD you can go threw the computer and turn that off

For the ass in seat part is usually just a momentary switch under the seat. Pull it off and use a jumper wire.

Isn’t that the X3 M40i in the pics? So what did you buy? (That is the title of the thread)

And what’s up with BMW seats?
I can’t make it to the cottage when we take the wife’s Mini. We often take the truck despite the mileage hit.

You got me Don. Yes, BMW and Mini seats are hard as heck. It is odd that my M2 seats are not nearly as hard as the X3.

So, this is what I have now ended up with. A nice reliable 4 door sedan. A 2022 Lexus IS350 F Sport. This was the only new one in Ontario. The paint colour is Atomic Silver which is a muted silver colour. Absolutely beautiful in person.

I found the mini and 440 seats comfortable. As someone who sits in a car the most part of the day I tend to be picky. But I do prefer a firm seat with lots of adjustment.

That F is sharp. What motor are they using in those? I know some a disturbingly quick for a sedan.

I tried for months trying different settings on the X3 and not one thing made my ride enjoyable at all. It goes to show you to spend more than 10 minutes in a vehicle before buying. I am sure that he run flat tires were not helping me one bit. These seats were quite different compared to my M2 which were much more comfortable. I believe that your 440 seats are similar in design. The seats in the Lexus is one of the most comfortable seats that I sat on in quite some time. I drove the IS350 several time for quite a bit before making the decision. It was a toss up between the Genesis G70 and this vehicle.
The motor in this is a slow motor actually. It is a 3.5 V6 putting out 311hp so it is plenty quick for day to day and ultra reliable which is the most important thing.

Yeah. We test drove an x3 and x4. Just didn’t seem as comfortable. I chalked it up to the low floor with no leg room. Unlike most other suvs that have a lot more space vertical from the floor to the seat height.

There was actually better leg room in the back seat of the 440 that there was in the back seat of the X4

I kind of like that the manufactures are doing the F sport and with ford the ST line. So you get the sporty appearance but have the option of a better ride and better fuel economy with standard motors.
They have been huge sellers.

30775

Well this turned into bullshit. The seller from China wants me to send the mats to some person in Newfoundland so I can get my refund. I asked the seller to get me a shipping label so I can send it as they typed the address in a message. After that I get a automated message from Amazon that the seller has left the Amazon store and cannot receive messages. WTF? So I submit a claim with Amazon. Claim denied. Amazon says I should return to the address in Newfoundland. Again, no shipping label. So it seems to me I have to pay to ship to Newfoundland to get my refund from a seller that left the Amazon store. I can understand having to pay for something I didn’t want anymore. I ordered black mats, not red. That’s a mistake by the seller.

I’d call my credit card company but I doubt they’d reverse the charges.

I would still call your card company and tell them you received the wrong product and that the seller is supposed to/should pre-pay return shipping since it was their fault (or Amazon at least) but is now unresponsive, and ask for a chargeback (Goods and Services Not received; ie. the correct one you ordered, or Goods and Services Not As Described).

I used a sheet of 3/4 or 1" plywood then got lucky enough to score a steel bench top someone else had made but never used.

Nice choice. I had an 04 wagon that was a blast in the winter even in base trim. I hit a truck with it so it ended up silver with a blue hood and front bumper. Then I lifted it with forester struts and oversize tires.

$40 at Canada Computers. My Rogers modem is in the basement with wifi off. My main Asus router is on the main floor and I have an Ethernet cable that runs from the Rogers modem to it. The main Asus router is for the main floor and covers the basement and back yard. I already have an extender for the 2nd floor. This one is for outside. Plugged in nearest to my front door. I’m posting this on wifi while standing on the sidewalk.

I paid for my flooring yesterday in full as they are coming in on Thursday to install the engineered hardwood. This cannot be done soon enough. I learned not to buy anymore unnecessary crap for the home. Such a waste as it takes up space and it is a pain in the ass to pack everything up. I should just leave it packed and dump it.

Living room turned out good.

I hear ya about the de-cluttering. But it’s a battle against my hoarding genes. Reinforced by the occasional instance where my hoarding comes in handy. We had foam anti-fatigue mat in the kitchen that got scratched up and replaced with a new mat. I hoarded the old one for years. Last weekend I used it to make isolation pads for the concrete pavers holding down our new winter storage shelter.

Our basement closets need de-cluttering, and so does the garage.

Sorry Don that is still the old flooring. New flooring will be slightly darker but a lot thicker.

I do hear you on the hoarding part. My parents are a bit that way too. Living in a condo has taught me to be a bit of minimalism but the small little things is what kills me. I need to sell off my die cast collection. It takes up a lot of space and collects dust.

Finally got a full size spare. Will be taking the donut out and replacing it with this. 215/55/18 tire on a 18x8 that clears 4 piston Brembos.

Rim $130
Tire $100

The tire is relatively the same diameter as 235/50/18 except skinnier so it fits in the cavity better.

These roller idler arms are supposed to be a nice upgrade on a manual steering car.
Car has original tie rods with no grease fittings so makes sense to freshen them up.

I know exactly what you mean. The move from Oshawa to Calgary taught me about the bare essentials. Even after getting rid of a bunch of stuff before the move, we still have some things in boxes, which tells me they are less then essential. Told my wife we're not going to buy more stuff for the house, instead stick to things that improve the house value only. We'll see....

I had my 2022 Explorer done with Corrosion Free. Mine was applied by a professional detailer in Burlington so you know it was a careful thorough job. "Mr. Detail" also did a ceramic coating on my Explorer as well. Really pleased with the jobs.

ZR
12-06-2022, 11:23 PM
Place I went, only drill if otherwise no access. Was able to stand in the shop n watch the action, impressive how they use different wands n techniques to reach as much as physically possible. Second yr of using these guys, back at the shop and on the hoist, can see nothing they've overlooked.............far cry from the poor job many pass off.
As I've said before, only moved away from Krown n other oil based products because of the way it attacks all the rubber it comes into contact with, including fuel sender in my previous truck.
