We just completed the purchase of another Mustang! It's a 1996 GT convertible. Green with tan leather interior.
Body and undercarriage are essentially rust free.
It is now at our mechanic getting certified. We will be doing a cold air intake, exhaust, full tune up, new tires, and subframe connectors. Engine and transmission are in good condition.

I'ts not meant to be a daily driver. It will be a weekend car just for my wife and I to go for our traditional Sunday drives. In two years, it will go to my grand daughter Bina, who is currently 13 1/2 and loves Mustangs.

Oh. In case anyone is wondering. I still have the Avanti, but that project is on hold because there is a problem with the ownership. I don't want to pour thousands into a car that I don't legally own. Hoping to resolve the issue soon.

Pictures to follow when it's back from the mechanic.

Congrats!!
Subframe connectors completely change the feel of the car!
Lucky grand daughter.

I know. I had them on my '99, '00, '03 and '04. With a strut tower brace and k member it changed the entire personality of each car.

I have only one picture right now. When I get the car back I'll take a few.
And by the way, I still have the 89 foxbody that Rick built for me 15 years ago. It hasn't been on the road for 7 years, unfortunately.

Thanks to all. It's not a new car, by any means, but it will give me a chance to drive an open car again. I got my first convertible in 1999 and both my wife and I miss it a lot.
Since that time, I and my family have owned a total of 13 Mustangs. a '99; an'00, an 03 Cobra; an 04 Cobra; an 86 coupe (winter beater) and 89 coupe (still have it); and 89 hatch; a 91 vert; a '12; a '14; a '15; and a '17. And now the '96.

My 2016 Jag f-type had a Ford motor in it so you can maybe count that as well, sort of.

^ Good quality properly installed cost a few bucks but money well spent.
