My dad may be looking to sell his 2015 F150 XLT XTR SuperCrew 5.0 with the 6.5' bed. The truck is in mint shape and has 121k KM. He is very hesitant on selling it privately for many reasons (Tim Bosma murder, scumbags with no money, etc.). I am also thinking about importing it to the US, however driving in the streets of Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan will be challenging.

Does Carvana do business in the GTA? I know they are facing serious financial turmoil.

How about any particular Ford dealership in the GTA?

Photo of the truck:

No Carvana here.

What does he want for it?

My assumption based on a quick search online would be around market value, which looks to be around $28,000. 121k km. 2015 Super Crew XLT XTR with the 6.5' bed, 5.0, Sync stereo, bed liner, new tires / brakes, well maintained, not sure what else?

Any dealership will only pay wholesale for the truck. You are likely to take a loss.

If he is looking to replace the truck with another Ford (or any new truck for that matter) then he should look into trade in. Although they will offer wholesale, that price will benefit from an additional 13% savings in HST. So if they offer 23k, he will get 23k plus HST = $25,990 and he doesn’t need to safety.

Shop trade ins against a couple of dealers and see who will provide you the best overall value.

Just a thought…

Yep I told him to trade it in against his new 2023 4Runner, but he didn't listen. He wants me to buy it from him and use it in the states.

Here's an example of a 2015 for sale in Kirkland Lake.
