Had a vibration in car last 2-300 kms of driving I believe is the PS engine mount. I did driver-side 12000km /12 years ago in my grandparents single car and remember I cussed and bled a lot. Anyone got any tips for the passenger side install? Should I be pulling starter? Exhaust? Plan is to use a block of wood and jack to lift engine because I cant recall who last borrowed my engine support bar.

you put new wheels on last summer didnt you? Maybe you kicked a weight off one of the wheels?

Wheels are two summers old. Mount is suspect because engine appears to be leaning to PS side, vibration isn’t constant with speed but seems more load dependant, worst being after accelerating to 100-120kmh then letting off throttle. Also I have the mount because I bought the pair from Ford back in 2011 but changing driverside then solved my issue so I got lazy and didnt swap both so its a “free” fix if it works.

Pretty sure you can reach with starter in place.

Thanks. Gonna attempt next weekend, hoping mount thats in there is obviously pooched.

Had to pop starter off. Couldn't snake any manner of wobbles, extensions or stubbies behind starter to get that rear block to mount bolt. Once starter was hanging I could put a deep socket and a long 90t ratchet in there and get it off.

Also mount was totally FOOKED. When I lifted engine hunks of rubber came falling out. Legit was doing nothing in there. Wonder if thats why I had such a nightmare time changing PS valve cover gaskets…

Valve cover gasket is not pleasant under any circumstances.

Oh come on now. I did one when the engine was on a stand. That was almost tolerable…

Glad it was obviously the problem. Nothing worse than opening something up only to find out it wasn’t the problem.

Both the 2V n 4V look like a reasonable job in the car......................right up til your ballz in with no turning back.

There were enough signs that I felt confident that even if this isn't cause of issue, it was still a problem or at the very least would wake me up in the night a few times. Also before I committed to removing starter and all the other fun I undid the large 21mm nut from mount to k frame that's easily accessible with an impact, then lifted motor up a bit. Doing that I could feel how much slop was in the mount which then told me to go ahead and pull it.

Rare we get one in with all in place, upper can be a bitch.

I was running all three until last time I pulled the PS exhaust manifold. Lost one and just slammed it back on two. One day when I pull motor to do a complete reseal I'll address that. ONE DAY

I appear to have added a vibration by doing this. Neat.

Yea this feels more like harmonics, I gotta get under the car with the wheels loaded and check my pinion angle. Also noticed theres a fair bit of side to side play in rear end so gotta check upper diff bushings.

Well driveshaft bolts were all finger tight and the pinion angle was set to positive 7 degrees…SO GLAD I PAID FOR SOMEONE TO ADJUST AND DIAL IN REAR SUSPENSION. *sigh*

Tightened up DS bolts, set pinion angle off the trans output angle. See how it goes when I get a chancr to drive it again

This car has been a perpetual lesson in “check everything for yourself and never trust a job is done right regardless of the price”

Orrrrr make it substantially worse, but something will definitely change.

RedSN been there done that. I chased a vibration from rebuilding trans and installing new clutch. Then had motor redone and still there. With advice from our troop leader ZR spent $60 and replaced the trans mount and ding ding ding we have a winner. No more vibration.
