Had my taillights tinted by mixing some UA Ford black in to clear about 14 years ago, loved the look ever since but sort of debating going to a more OEM vibe and putting all red tails back in. Would have loved a set of Amber but holy fuck $2,000 for tail lights is insane. Looking for some input

I like the OEM look personally. It gives it a tasteful look.

I'm usually an OEM type of guy, but I really like the tint. Seems to match the rest of the car.

agreed with Mike, looks pretty mean.

I like both looks but sway more to OEM. You can pick up a set of OEM's cheap and switch them out as you please or as your mood changes, lol.

When I still had the Cobra, went from tinted back to OE.

You weren't kidding, found a set new for $89/pair. Might just do that.

I like the tint, but I know what you’re saying, the car is at an age where originality has a lot of value over mods.
Amber tails look sick, but would on top of the cost you need a harness and some wiring modification as well, lol.

Originality left the chat long ago with this one. Value is meaningless as the next time this one changes ownership is when I leave it to my daughter. Moreso just debating some changes due to boredom and desire to mod something.

Im usually not a fan of the all black'd out cars. But your car is stunning imo. Leave it alone

I’ve been struggling with keeping the originality of my car for years.
“Keep it original, it’s worth more”. Do I care….? Am I actually going to ever sell it?
Simple change like tail lights, I’d do it to change it up a bit

I wasn’t thinking of actual value/resale value, more like the personal/perceived value of having something original when a lot of stuff is “cheap eBay junk”.

Believe it or not I’ve been having the same debate (with myself) about my truck taillights…kinda wanted some old-school clear lights to give it more of a “period correct” modded appearance as opposed to the survivor look.

please yourself. Everyone has their own "taste".

Home sellers often paint before selling. Home buyers often then repaint once moved in.

consider that there's enough buyers for these tails to create a market for them.
