I think the 17 would drive circles around the 08. Just my opinion.

Never could catch that yellow GT at the track.
Whereas those GT500s are holding me up all day long.

But, as long as both of them hold oil, don’t really care. Choose what pleases you best.

I currently have an '05 and a '20. Both are great cars but for totally different reasons. If I had to pick one no doubt it would be the '20, way better all round do it all ride.

They are completely different cars, It really depends on your intended use

The 17 has a better ride, better interior, better handling.
The 08 will ride and handle like a truck vs the 17.
Looks are subjective but I am not a fan of the front end on the 15-17 cars, I think the 08 looks better/ more unique being a Shelby.

Get both. Then drive which ever suits your mood.

‘08 is a better cruiser/weekend car, ‘17 is a better track/performance/straight-line/handling/fun/comfortable/daily, etc…car.

I think you really have to drive both yourself to compare them for what you enjoy.

It’s hard to beat technology and it’s crazy how the NA stuff is comparable and surpassing the older boosted stuff now BUT that’s where mods and personalizing begins and makes the hobby enjoyable for car enthusiasts.

Here's my actual opinion. If you are gonna just cruise in it and drive it around, I would get the Shelby. Much cooler car, Many less around. If you are going to track it alot, Get the '17. It will be much better on the track. Other than that it's just another of 10 million mustang GT's

Thats almost my sediment ...just a little cheap I guess , Of course being aware the Shelby will , should hold its value a little better , but really enjoy the feeling of the 17 GT . The difference 10 years makes in technology and comfort are substantial ...
