My good friends have an 07 MB E 320 BlueTec diesel they love. Doesn't have Nav or Bluetooth/handsfree phone; altho the OEM stereo shows the buttons.

Any ideas if this hardware/software can be updated or what the options are short of replacing the whole unit.
Any help/comments on here or via pm most appreciated.

Thx
Paul

Hey Paul,

Mercedes had a Bluetooth module that was in the center console of these cars, looks a lot like a remote control, they're about $500 USD for the factory version new.

But as always you can find them online such as this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Latest-Model-OEM-Mercedes-Benz-MHI-BT-Bluetooth-Module-Cradle-Adapter-B67876131-/181510873610?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AE350&hash=item2a42e4220a&vxp=mtr

Looks like the part number is: B6 787 6131

They were really well integrated into these vehicles when they came out so it's probably a good idea to give MB a call and see what they would charge for an install. These cars are tough to take apart, it's definitely not a Mustang dash ha ha.

Something like this would probably do the trick

Benz Fibre Optic stereo systems are a royal asshole FYI.

Thx Steve - does this enable Nav, or is that something else as well?

pretty sure those cost $500 or more? You could get a brand new all-in-one unit for that price.

Ya, go with MB original parts if that's the case.
