Depends on how big the snacking portions are and how many, lol.
If you take 1 small portion like a quarter cup or something you should be fine. 1/3 cup of unsalted cashews is 230 calories.

But from a practical point I can not start until May 1.
Tax season is not the time to start anything new. Too stressful and absolutely no time.

But exercising and doing some sort of work out has been on my mind.
Currently weighing in at 248.5, am 6'2".

See you in May!

With each passing day, getting a tic easier. Stomach is still wondering WTF happened. I'm ok in the am, hungry, make that really hungry from 11ish until I eat lunch. Seem to cruise through the afternoon ok but hit a wall around 4:30 when I'll woof down a cracker or two with a small smear of Peanut butter with just a hint of raspberry jam, holds me off till dinner. Evenings, thats where the self control really needs to kick in, doing ok so far but all too accustomed to a bowl of Popcorn or bag of Bits n Bites to chew on washed down with a Dr Pepper or two. Kath has been peeling me a grapefruit, add in yet another glass or three of water, doin ok.
Just need the weather to come around a hair and I'll be walking every evening again, did one this week.

I have three physiological issues that I must deal with daily:

1) I have enlarged organs and am missing 2 ribs on both sides, so I can fit a lot of food in during one feeding. this is why I am shaped the way that I am.
2) I do not have an "off-switch" that trips when full - it trips when I am past full and deep into PAIN.
3) I enjoy this pain.

Which was a bit of a surprise because I thought I was about 10-15lbs heavier than that.

Anyway, I'd like to drop 100lbs.

357.2 (Mar 24) - 351.8 (Mar 28) = 5.4

I've totally cut down on my intake, especially bad shit.

Sweetener instead of sugar in my coffee (one a day), no more muffins/bagel/donut with my commute coffee.

No more eating before bed - I have an apple as a snack about 3/4 hours before bed.

I do some weights and some cardio every day.

And Raw shake meal replacement for my other meal of the day. http://www.gardenoflife.com/Products-for-Life/Foundational-Nutrition/RAW-Meal.aspx

No more eating out (I've been doing that for a while now and taking my lunch to work).

And I'm doing gluten free bread for my work lunches and gluten free cereal for my breakfast - with soya milk.

its kinda one of those pyramid selling programs like amway back in the day. I was enrolled in it but only to get my own products, I'm not the type to try to sell products to friends or do it as a business. I can connect you with a seller if you would like. google it to learn more about the products. the program works and the products are high quality compared to others on the market. My 2c , if your training hard I can see you wanting supplements but I personally think we need to learn to eat right long term . If you cut weight by shaking that's great but we will be missing out on good foods . My bro got so addicted to taking shiat he had a cabinet full of pills for this , oil for that , it's like his body didn't know how to shit unless he took the right pill . He eventually had to stop cuz he was turning jaundice .He still trains hard 40+ but very limited supplements . I dropped about 30 lbs a few years ago and am floating at 205-210 but haven't done sfa in terms of training lately .
So you can eat and loose weight , if anyone wants to borrow this just as a guide feel free , pass it around .

Fk my cheat day spilled over throughout my week off + lbs . I don't eat any junk food ( a little cookie here n there ) just a whole lot of veal ! Breaded veal , veal Parmesan , veal chops , fried up in olive oil . But you can't have just veal so throw it in a sangwich , some pasta .
I might change my handle to "veal chop" .

Keep the coffee just stop the Red bull and other similar drinks. Easier to learn to moderate coffee or tea and they have some beneficial properties including the caffeine in them. You'll eliminate the withdrawal headache.

I got my fix from Coke. Cold turkey was all that works for me. If I give myself an inch I'll take a mile. Headaches are more or less gone thankfully but I still get cravings. I think my body is trying to compensate for the calorie deficit. I find that I am super hungry at work. Needless to say the weight loss has plateaued. Pop is out, good food is in but now I need to reduce the amount.

Oh, so you're not a fan then...

yes and no. it is actually too big of a serving for me, 500ml shake in the morning is a lot IMO. mainly because for the last year I have had shakes (IsaGenix) that are only 250ml. having said that, I had 250ml + only 1 scoop this morning and felt full and with sufficient energy right to lunch so it definitely does the job I am looking for. but after having other shakes that are fantastic tasting, this one really does leave something to be desired. but it is drinkable for me and I will have no trouble using it regularly. it is also nice that there is a store in Aurora that stocks it (vs IsaGenix that was mail order MLM).

Yes, similar to the Isagenix one, but it has nearly 2 times the nutrition. Even with only using 1/2 portion (1 scoop per 250ml) I'm still getting the same if not more than I was with my past shake. thanks for pointing me to this!

I did the IsaGenix one. I think it cost about $300 total if I'm not mistaken. I lost a bunch of weight and did feel a lot better after. The MLM aspect of it bothered me and it got expensive to maintain after the first month. Honestly, I think if you are eating healthy and drinking a LOT of water, the cleanse routines are unnecessary.

The key to the IsaGenix program/cleanse is the meal replacement shakes. Have 1-2 every day with other sensible eating and you'll lose weight. But there are better shakes out there (the one Armen posted IMO) or you could just make your own with frozen fruit & protein powder etc.

If you want to try the IsaGenix shakes, I have an unopened one that you could have. would last about 2-3 weeks.

I've been on the treadmill a lot lately and my feet were getting sore with some blisters coming on. I have been using shoes that are about 10 years old. they were in great condition but I suspected that my feet may have changed over the years. so I thought I'd go see about getting something that may fit better. I went to the Running Room and I am glad that I did. They did a gait analysis to see how my feet move when I walk and choose a category of shoes that best suited my stride and the support that I needed. I then tried on 4 different shoes from within the support category and was amazed that they all felt very different. One was really uncomfortable, one too narrow, one not enough support and the 4th fit like a sock!! I am happy I went there and got properly fitted, no more going to SportChek and picking the ones that look cool - I had no idea there was such difference!

So I got some new kicks and did a 45 minute session on the treadmill last night. Felt awesome! If any of you guys are ramping up your activity like I am, I now highly recommend outfitting yourself with the proper shoes!

This is what I ended up with - Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14

Starting combined weight for the 16 noted above is 4012.3lbs. To date we have lost a combined total of 86.4lbs. This puts us at 3925.9lbs. Nice to see the 4 changed to a 3 at the beginning. Well done so far.

Bit of a slip up today :(

Friggin catered business lunch full of rice, breads and awesome cookies AHHH! Carbs are the devil in disguise! Oh well I only had one cookie instead of the traditional 3. I've been good otherwise so hopefully Friday will still look ok. Good thing there's no wing night this week.

184 this week, so up 1lb. I guess finishing off breakfast and lunch with pumpkin pie on Sunday didn't help. Don't normally eat desserts and pumpkin pie is my favorite, but only see it 2 or 3 times a year. Normally my eating habits are pretty consistent and reasonably healthy (always room for improvement). I think the biggest culprit at the moment is just sitting around on my ass and not getting exercise. With the exercise I should start to see the weight start to come down. Went for a walk yesterday, maybe I can get two in today.

Motivation Idea

If you're like me, there are many things that tug on your paycheque before your mustang. I find that I even feel a little guilty dropping money into the stang, regardless how much is sitting in the bank. Retirement, education funds, family vacations, new stuff for the house, new family DD, there's always something that really ought to come first.

My idea is to reward yourself when you reach your goal. It's a good idea to get the buy in of you significant other on this plan up front. My reward will be $50 I can spend on the stang for every pound I loose, payable when I reach my goal and not one ounce sooner.

Pick you're own reward and have the discipline not to reward as you go.

When you reach your goal, reward yourself guilt free! You've earned it!!!

^^ I have basically done something similar, but the reward money is coming from money I was usually spending on fast food. A typical day for me started with about $3 at tims for a coffee and donuts or bagels plus about $12 for lunch/snacks at the food court near my office. now, I didn't do this everyday, but enough so lets say it is about $50-60 per week buying crap. Instead, now I am having a meal replacement shake every morning and I am bringing my lunch in with dinner leftovers. So the money I am not spending on breakfast and lunch is going to go toward a reward (car mods).

I tried the reward thing with MissBB that when I lose my 50lbs, she'll let me buy a GT500.. Yeah didn't fly..... lol.... Looks like my reward is a beer..haha

Too bad it didn't fly although that's more like $1500 per pound! Nice reward.

That'll work, just don't buy all the mods first and be in a diet deficit. The stress may drive you to bagels...

Weight Loss Program

A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 5lbs weight loss program.

The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic, 19 year old babe dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign around her neck..

She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company. The sign reads, "If you can catch me, you can have me."

Without a second thought, he takes off after her. A few miles later puffing and puffing, he finally gives up. The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens. On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 5lbs as promised.

He calls the company and orders their 5-day/10lbs program. The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life. She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, "If you catch me you can have me".

Well, he's out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and he does his best, but no such luck. So for the next four days, the same routine happens with him gradually getting in better and better shape.

Much to his delight on the fifth day when he weighs himself, he discovers that he has lost another 10lbs as promised. He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day/25 lbs program.

"Are you sure?" asks the representative on the phone. "This is our most rigorous program." "Absolutely," he replies, "I haven't felt this good in years."

The next day there's a knock at the door; and when he opens it he finds a huge muscular guy standing there wearing nothing but pink running shoes and a sign around his neck that reads, "If I catch you, you are mine."

Rick lost 33 lbs that week.

they were the ones that fit and were right for me. I didn't even consider the look of them, or the price for that matter. found out the price when I got to the til. fit and function were all I cared about. so how are they? I did a 90 minute treadmill session (2 SoA episodes lol) without even once thinking about my feet or any pain from my stride at all. i'm real happy.

don't just check out the ones I got. Go to the Running Room, get them to analyze your stride, gait and feet, then try the shoes that fit the best and are right for you.
