whats the best chemical you have used?

I like oven cleaner myself...but theres always something better

I use laq thinners and rags. Don't like how oven cleaner changes the surface / leaves it roughed up.

the hand cleaner seems to work ok

let it sit for an hr or so...BUT

it seams to stain...might be a bit caustic

Dewey, I used gunwash to clean a carb for my truck on the advice of a mechanic I worked with, and it works damn good. I think I still have a bucket of some in the garage. You're welcome to try that.

My Dad worked in the boiler room at a Steel plant.
He swears by a bucket of hot water with a steam line straight in.
Leave it for an hour, parts come out looking shinny and new!

liquid Egr cleaner would probably work well.

I bought a can at auto zone in the states last summer. Think it was on sale for 19.99 regular 29.99
works great on lawnmower carbs

I heard of people spraying water in the intake , all the steam build up will clean the piston.

Also seafoam has been proving to actually do some good work with carbon cleaning!

actually if you use water/meth injection....you will never have carbon build up^^^^
