Hi everyone. In the middle of an engine bay clean up. And will be removing my ac. Just wondering if there is any safe way to remove it, without having to put that s@$t in the air. Any help would be great.

What's in it? If it's still R12 chances are it's empty, but even if it's not nobody will touch it anyway. If it's R134 you could probably just go down to your local garage and tell them what you're doing, ask if they want to remove your gas and keep it.

I don't know what's in it, but I know it doesn't work. The guy I bought it from said it hasn't worked in years.

chances are 99% that there's nothing in it. Crack the fittings and don't inhale, especially if you hear the sound of escaping pressurized gas, lol

Or take off one of the port caps and simply depress the valve, it's like a tire valve. If you have anyrhing just hold the valve until it's empty, a full charge is usually about 80-110psi static line pressure, so if it peters out in a few seconds you have nothing to worry about.

On side note, used Fox's with intact / working AC are bringing a premium compared to one without.
