Hey fellas,

Well as stated this is my first stang. It's a 00 Vert with 69k 5 speed and it's completely stock aside from the rims and tires. It's going in Friday night and will have a BBK H pipe and magnaflow catback. What would you guys suggest be my next bolt on? I'm not trying to pump crazy power as I want to enjoy this car with my wife and kids. I just want a nice sounding car that has some jump if I'm by myself on a country road if you know what I mean.

I figured sub frame connectors. It has some already but I'm assuming those are stock by the looks of them

If I was to do gears what's the rpm on the highway going to be? I plan to drive this and not just in the city

Junk the stock ones. I was told they are like tin.

Alright any suggestions for good aftermarket connectors?

My suggestion.

-sub frame connectors - Steeda only
-strut tower brace - Maximum Motorsports only

Difference in the car will be significant, so much that you'll wish they had been included in your first round of mods.

Round of mods after that,
-373 gears (+ Speedcal or tuner to adjust speedo).
-from there I'd move on to suspension. Making the car sound n feel faster is one thing, making it handle better puts a whole different spin on the fun factor.

Does Steeda install as well or just sell? If I'm having subframe connectors put in I don't want them done by some hack. I'm out in Oshawa but would certainly drive to get them installed.

Give ZR a call for the SFC install. He'll do it right.

is the H pipe an O/R or catted?

personally I'd go with something a little throatier than the Magnaflows if you want a little volume...they will sound pretty close to stock, unless of course you went with the O/R pipe then it will have some bark when you get on it hard...

+1 on getting ZR to do your frame connectors, he'll take the time to make sure it's done correctly!!

Steeda subframe connectors
3.73 gears
short throw shifter

3 fairly easy and inexpensive mods that make the car so much better to drive.

The H pipe is catted and I'm ok with the magna flow system being a little quieter. I want the wife and kids to be able to enjoy the ride and not get a headache from drone.

yeah, no worries...just wanted to offer up my .02 for you as you are newer to the Stanger world and I've had countless exhaust setups over the years, one of which being that one...best thing you can do is get out there and hear some systems in person...hard to get a good feel for what something sounds like from say youtube and what not

that being said...get out to some of our events!!

:D

Magnaflow is more around the medium-heavy truck range.
GhostRider breaks the decibel meter.

Lol you guys are funny. I'm actually going to come over to dasilva on Sunday. As soon as the wife saw the Zoo thing she was in. I know I keep talking about family but my last car was a thirdgen TA and basically it was a one person car because I couldn't get my 3 year old daughter in it. As much as I love cruising by myself I want my family to enjoy the car as well.

^^^cool

I have a 4th gen TA...I use it for the winter when the Machs are put away...I admit, it's a fun car to drive...

also, Don was not joking about the DB metre...I broke one at Steeda dyno day a few years back LOL :D

here's the ZAM

Nice TA Ghost rider. I've always been a GM guy but wanted a mustang for a long time.

Ghost, get rid of that hood and put a proper ram air hood on that thing. That is possibly the only car I've ever seen that looks better with such a hood. Lucky guy, wish that was my summer car, lol.

As for gears, I love the 3.55's in my car, pulls like a bastard, I struggle for traction in the first 3 gears.

I have brand new Maximum Motorsports strut tower brace if you are interested. (99-04)

Fire it up in the buy n sell, it'll likely go quickly.

Efx I'm certainly interested but with a 1000 bucks in exhaust going In it tomorrow night I need to let the dust settle with Mama. Happy wife happy life I think it goes. The good thing is she's a big fan of the vert. I swear when I told her I was looking at a mustang she was like your crazy. When I said it was a vert I saw her tits perk up a bit! LMAO

btw, i found gears to be the best bang for the buck mod. Put an instant smile on my face when i had 4.10s installed.

Ghost Rider
05-28-2015, 11:30 AM
I have 4.10's in mine...I put them in for the race track though...so I could have more pull on exit in some of the corners

on the street though the 3.55's were good enough for me...I would imagine the 3.75's are a good compromise...lot of people on here running that set up

and yeah, jump on that STB asap...best one out there you can get (I'm assuming it's the 4 point) I'd have one on the Mach but they don't make one that fits the shaker so I only have a 2 point :(

yeah I was looking at hoods about 4 years ago...couple different versions out there for it...they both look great IMO...however more money spend on the TA is less spent on the Mach lol (which already has a pretty sweet RAM air hood lol)
