I was removing the factory strut brace from the Lincoln LS this evening and one of the bolts at the centre of the brace sheared off at the head (rusted). I've never had to remove a broken off or sheared bolt before. is there a trick to remove this?

Thanks!

Most reliable method to remove, weld a washer to the bolt then nut to the washer, spin it out.

Success rate, almost 100% on alum or steel.

That's cool - thanks! Downside is that I don't have a welder.

Downside is that I don't have a welder.

then I have a solution...but you need patience

center punch broken bolt & drill a hole in the center...the hole diameter has to be about 2/3 of

the size of the piece...soak with penetrant...drive a torx bit (one that fits tight) into the hole & use a 1/4 wrench on it

remember...it will turn in BOTH directions....you must finesse it out...nice thing...if anything breaks you can still use

the welding method

Or drive it to somebody that does have a welder.

try a small flat head screw driver and a hammer, should be much making the bolt tight anymore
