View Full Version : long tubes rubbing steering knuckle

mac long tubes on my 80, one pipe is rubbing the steering knuckle...can i just bang the header in a bit with a massage hammer??lol just rubbing a c hair..should i heat it up first? any advice be great thanx

A lil dent for clearance is perfectly acceptable. Odd time you can shim the motor mount a hair to gain clearance (washer or two between mount and block or between mount and K member under stud).

put in a MM steering shaft

I made a new longer central shaft on my Flamig River setup; you may have to do this. D shafts are available from Horton Hot Rods for about $30. Could make a longer or shorter tongue too.
