View Full Version : Fabric re-glue for the pillar cover (windshield)

This is not actually from a Mustang but it's a general interior upholstery question.

Anyone had to re-glue the fabric on the the pillar cover (side of windshield)? Mine is peeling away and needs to be glued.

What have you used so the fabric doesn't become saturated during the process?

Contact cement from a spray can, applied to surface it's going on vs fabric itself. Best suggestion I can come up with.

Have seen DIY threads on door insert repairs on the s197's. Same idea I think.

Basically peel it back, apply 2 coats of contact cement, giving each coat 20 minutes to dry. Stick it on. Drive with the windows open for a while.
