View Full Version : Rick @ T5 specialist
So I ordered an astro t5 from this guy on kijiji thought he seemed like a good guy ... got the transmission installed it found it a bit loud ask him said it would break in. 1500km later ( highway and city) transmission still loud and now I have vibration remove drive shaft find output shaft has play take out transmission find input shaft has play as well ... take apart transmission find it has gforce gears not astro gears find that the front bearing retainer is not shimmed properly cause the slack in the input shaft and output shaft , I could not see any damage to anything from running it this way .
I have texted and call Rick and he has yet to say a word to me . Maybe it's because I like across the country that he just doesn't not want to deal with me but I'm just letting my fellow mustang owners know my experience with him .
Just in case there is any confusion, no he's not talking about me.
Hopefully the builder steps up and gets this looked after.

So this guy is a member on this forum for sure all of a sudden he's "back from vacation" and he has now edited his kijiji ad saying transmissions will be built with either gear set depending on availability .... I have the original kijiji ad saved ... and I have the text message confirming he told me it had astro gears

So far all he has to offer is for me to keep my core and he will give me $200... which is a bull shit offer considering he lied to me about what gear set he sent me and didn't build the transmission properly...

Since you clearly have his attention, if that ads yours, might be best to pull while you guys negotiate a solution. No upside to everyone being so pissed they can't see the forest for the trees kinda deal.
JMO though.

Post up the Original Ad you saved that indicates the other Gear Set.
That may get his attention.
That is the original ad his new ad clearly has stuff added ... I'll take my ad down once this is resolved .... he has gone back "on vacation " it looks like

Well looks like he's not gonna try and right his wrong doing ... he's now saying because I opened the transmission and didn't have authorization to that all warranty and returnability is void .... either way be warned of this guy hope people will steer clear or at least make sure you get what you are paying for if you do decide to deal with him.... small claims court here we come
