Got to give him credit for getting into the last race, sure doesn't mean I have to like it though.

Who would you like to see win all the marbles this Sunday?
My monies on Jimmy.
I'd like to see Carl or Kyle take it. Jimmy has won enough and don't want him to be tied with the Intimidator and The King. I cant stand Logano, not even sure why lol
I think Carl is due but my money is on JJ also
Carl is my second choice.
Anyone other than Jimmie or Logano
^ You bite your tongue right now mister. :)
I hate Jimmie. I was cheering for Keselowski to beat 48. First time I've cheered on the 2 since Rusty was in it. Logano is a complete Douche bag. Instead of parking Kenseth they should have given him a gold star. LOL
These two guys won championships the real way. Being the best over a full season, not just being the best or luckiest of 10 races
^^^...in cars that somewhat resembled the showroom model too. They all look like spec cars now with a different sticker package.
^ Could not agree more.
It doesn't matter how many times Jimmie wins, it's not the same as when Petty and Earnhardt achieved the same feat. Simply because they had to fight for it the entire year, not some 10 week pseudo "play-off".
Kevin Harvick won the pole position for Sunday's Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway (2:30 p.m. ET, NBC, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), with only half of the four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship-eligible drivers advancing to the final round of 12. Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch will start ninth and 10th, respectively, making up Row 5.
The other two championship-eligible drivers, Ford's Joey Logano and Chevrolet's Jimmie Johnson will also start alongside one another in 13th and 14th, two rows behind the Gibbs teammates in Row 7.
"Throw a blanket over us, at least one camera will be able to catch us all going into Turn 1," reigning Sprint Cup champ Busch joked about the relative closeness of the championship field on the starting grid.
Team owner Rick Hendrick shed light Friday on Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s timetable to return to NASCAR competition, saying he anticipated his driver to be on pace to compete in time for the 2017 Daytona 500.
Earnhardt Jr., 42, has been sidelined from the Hendrick Motorsports No. 88 Chevrolet since July after two severe crashes left him with concussion-like symptoms. He was ruled out for the remainder of the Sprint Cup season in September.
"I think sometime in December the doctor's going to give him the final clearance and then we'll get him in a car," Hendrick said Friday after a news conference with the Sprint Cup Championship 4 car owners at Homestead-Miami Speedway. "He feels great. Everything's on track. I mean, every step that we supposedly need to go through, we've gone through, and I don't see anything holding us back."
Earnhardt, who has been working on rehabilitation of his neurological conditions since this summer, reiterated that intention last month at Martinsville Speedway, saying in a pre-race interview that "we're booking things as normal" ahead of the 2017 season. That included sponsorship plans, photo shoots and other logistical agreements in preparation for next year.
But Earnhardt Jr. also indicated he was eager to return to NASCAR's premier series, something Hendrick reaffirmed Friday.
Race for all the marbles in Miami this afternoon at 2:30.
LMAO @ Knaus for trying to cheat (and getting caught) at the most important race of the year.
Just turned on the race, nice wreck.
Cool looking pace truck.
Told Ross before the restart Logano n Edwards were gonna wreck, ya it happened just like dat.
What's that funky helmet Logano has? It looks like it has a brim.
Jimmie for the win!
The cream has risen to the top yet again.
Congrats to the 48 team.
Congrats to 7 time JJ
Good for Jimmy, but the weakest eligable team won the championship. That's not how professional sports should work. I hate this stupid playoff format they use. You could win every single race up the final race and lose the championship. Soooooo lame.
Carmen
So, Nascar's wonderful chase has gifted Johnson yet another "championship". He'll never be on the same level as Petty or Earnhardt, no matter how many times he wins. I just wonder what this championship will do to Nascar's ratings.
^^^ Agree 100% ^^^
Why not just make the whole season 1 race. Go to Daytona and the winner is the champion. Chase is stupid. I hate the 22 but I was pulling for hm to beat he 48. Pretty sad that a teams whole season rides on 1 race and the driver feels he has to defend like Edwards did on the restart with the 22. 1 bad decision (forced by the stupid chase) decides the entire season for a whole team.
Congrats to 48 team for falling into a 7th Championship which means absolutely nothing when compared to 7 whole season championships by Petty and Earnhardt.
the end of the race was some good TV.....enjoyed it
congrats to JJ
Joey's inability to be patient combined with Carl's move to keep himself in contention cost the pair of them a shot at the end. Jimmy's ability to stay calm n focused on the prize paid off in spite of him not having the car to win. If those two had stayed outta trouble, very doubtful he'd have finished ahead of them. In the end, it is what it is, hate the game, not the players. You can rest assured it was a tough go back in the day, just as challenging but in different ways now.
Respect for JJ and his 7 championships.
I'm not a fan of the new way things are run in the Chase, I like the old way. Jimmy's does deserve his seventh championship he and his team are that good and he's young enough I think we will see him get to no mans land and get # 8....
Good luck to the "Biff". After almost 20 years at Roush, they have decided to part ways. As one of my favourite drivers, I hope he finds another ride for the 2017 season.
Hope he lands in a decent ride.
Mark Martin, winner of 40 NASCAR premier series races and a runner-up in the championship battle on five occasions, has been selected for induction into the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame.
Martin, 57, will be inducted Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017.
He was named on 95 percent of the ballots cast by the NMPA membership.
The Batesville, Arkansas, native competed in NASCAR for more than three decades. His 40 career victories currently rank 17th on the all-time list for the series while his 882 career starts rank fifth overall for the sanctioning body's top series.
In addition to his premier series efforts, Martin also enjoyed success in NASCAR's lower national series, winning 49 times in what is now the XFINITY Series and seven times in the Camping World Truck Series.
^^ One of the all time greats right there.
Yes Sir he is.
Germain Racing announced Monday that Ty Dillon will jump full-time into NASCAR's premier series next season, taking the reins of its No. 13 Chevrolet.
Dillon replaces Casey Mears, who had driven the No. 13 GEICO-sponsored entry since the second half of the 2010 season. The 24-year-old Dillon has made 18 Sprint Cupstarts over the last three years, including a relief stint for the injured Tony Stewartduring the early stages of last season.
In a Monday morning appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR's Radio's "The Morning Drive" program, Dillon indicated that an agreement with Germain Racing came together earlier in the year. The challenge, he said, was staying mum until this week.
"The questions kept coming and coming," Dillon told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. "The cool thing is that I knew what I was doing; I just didn't say anything. It's kind of like having an awesome secret that you want everyone to know, but you kind of had to hold it back. I guess all good things are worth waiting for. I'm just excited for what's to come."

A team spokesperson confirmed Monday that Robert "Bootie" Barker would return as the team's crew chief in 2017. GEICO returns as primary sponsor, extending a relationship that bridged Germain Racing's transition to a full-time Sprint Cup team in 2009.

NASCAR Monster Energy Cup
Doesn't have much of a ring to it.
It most certainly does not.
