    Screwed by eBay

    I’m usually not one to vent but…

    Back in November, I ordered 2 parts on eBay. After they arrived I realized I ordered the wrong ones and asked to return them. Of course I’ll be hosed the shipping but my fault for ordering wrong so that’s life. That’s not my issue.

    Get this….

    They issued 2 return labels, one for each part. Since they originally arrived in one box, I only used one label to return them but did put both packing slips in the box with the parts.

    Well they only issued a refund for one of the parts being the one associated with the shipping label on the box.

    I have been in touch with their customer service 4 times who are pleasant but useless and can only open a case for review but not actually do anything. I’m now being told the case is closed, no refund, no explanation.

    WTF?

    I have now opened an appeal to the case decision. Regardless of the outcome, I’m done with eBay.

    Can you try a credit card chargeback on the basis you paid for 2 and only got refund for one even though you returned two?

    Rock Auto is no better. Ordered everything correct, box arrived with several items damaged (poor packaging) after an extended back and forth, finally agreed to take it back.................Except warehouse they wanted sent to is in bottom of the US, shipping on my dime (yup would not come good for the shipping) was going to add up to almost as much as the parts cost me in the first place. Tossed in the garbage.

    When you say customer service, did you mean eBay customer service or the seller themselves?

    Yup and they said eBay handles refunds.

    By some miracle my appeal must have been read by a real human being and eBay issued a refund today. They even added the shipping which seems odd but I’ll take it for my troubles.
    It only took 2 months, 4 calls and 1 email.

    Ebay has gotten worse for sure.

    Was this shipped with their criminally expensive "global shipping" program?
