    Gear shear?!

    2014 GT

When shifting in first or second gear, or moving at low RPM (1000-1500) there is a god awful metal grinding noise. Took it to FINES FORD here in Bolton where I bought it (2440 km on it).. Mechanic says " it normal "...called it "gear shear" ..well that can't be good

    whatchyou talking bout Willis!

Online research seems to be the same verdict...really?

    What say you?

    Thanks

Should the noise be there, absolutely not. Bulk of them do it with owners reporting it gets better with more mileage. If yours otherwise works as it should (shifts correctly) turn the tunes up and be happy.

    Ford's favourite response.

    "My 4.6 burns oil?"
    "That's normal"
    No, no it's not

Where is the popcorn smilie? We're going to need it. I seem to recall reading another Fines Ford noisy transmission thread.

Got an acquaintance with a 2014 pick up truck that shakes like a mofo on the hwy. Funny part, it took a new drive shaft, new rear rotors and two new rear tires before the shake they acknowledged as a problem was suddenly normal.
    Beside himself he's so pissed.
Truck has a whopping 900kms on the clock.

Lots of claims out there that a fluid change makes a substantial difference.
