Holy crap Dave make it into a super sleeper! Leave it looking exactly like it looks but do some seriously fun motor and drivetrain work. Surprise a lot of people! Or at least keep the paint scheme cuz thats sexy. I have lx tailpipes you can have for the same price I got them...

Wow, that is one clean looking interior! I think I would preserve much of that interior as is (minus the wood grain which I would blackout) as it is too clean to change out IMO.

Personally I would do a 5.0 efi with HCI, tko500 5-spd, 8.8 (3.73) swap, 5-bolt SN brakes, weld rims, 82 or 86 nose with a deep impact blue paint job with blacked out Chrome. Then drive the tires off it!

Going to be a great project. Congrats!

Not ugly at all! When it's clean original, it's nice as hell. But if you insist in changing it, here's what I'd do to keep it stock but with a few minor upgrades.

    1) flock the dash panels, replacing the wood grain. It would look like the SVO. (I did mine in grey: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6...4-Ic42/int.jpg)

    2) Black carpet

    3) Optional: Replace the black/white tweed in the middle of the seats for black to tie it all together

    4) put a clutch pedal in there
