Let me know if you need replacement washers and nuts for the mount studs. I replaced mine and had to buy a 50/pack of each!
I’m looking to get some amsoil motor oil, would it be cheaper than directly from amsoil’s website? Who do I talk to on here?
Well that’s something!
Because of this thread I ordered a tfi tool and a tube of thermal paste.
That fatfoxx kit even comes with arctic silver 5 thermal paste/compound. Normally used in between heat sinks and computer chips, it helps transfer the heat. Not to be confused with dielectric grease,...
budget cuts unfortunately.
tq specs say 10-12 foot lbs. That seemed low but that's what I did. They're also brand new prothanes meant for lowered mustangs.
I have whiteline rear lower arms....
Resurrected for an update:
I'm now Koni on all 4 corners. Double adjustable front (koni yellow, 8742 1121S) and str.t rear (Koni orange, 8050 1033). Budget wouldn't allow me to go DA all around at...
You did help. Those wrenches would’ve been the ticket if the bolts were loose.
These aren’t the long studs/bolts that hold the pump on. Just small bolts that hold on the backing plate. They face the front of the car and are installed before the pump goes in the car. There’s...
Those are what I got! They’re a great tool to have.
I’ll try tightening. I’m doubtful it will work but it’s easy, so it’s worth a shot.
I have no idea if it’s the factory pump/gasket, hasn’t been touched since I got the car around 15 years ago.
I think those lower bolts (right where it’s leaking) only attach the backing plate to...
1988 fox, stock 5.0, upgraded hoses and rad. Pic is from the ground looking up at the water pump. You can see the balancer and pulley in the foreground.
As you can see there’s a weeping leak coming...
Scrape, seeing how you seem experienced in all this I have a couple questions:
1. How do you wash your pads? No matter how much I rinse, mine always end up with flaky bits after the pad dries.
2....
Griot’s one looks great also.
And scrape, agree with you about the standard orbital polishers just wasn’t sure which you were referring to.
I understood that one is gear driven and the other is momentum driven but the words DA and random orbital are used interchangeably by companies. And the link I posted above has 2 different patterns...
One of the big differences is rotary vs dual action vs random orbital. Rotary is like a drill, it just spins. These are more aggressive and create more heat faster. Dual action oscillates differently...
Sigh. I got ahead of myself. Car is still in storage but I wanted get a jump on the season. I’d been meaning to pressure test the cooling system (got stuck in traffic last fall and it got really hot)...
Thanks again everyone. Rack bushings are a good suggestion, I’ve already replaced the rear lower control arms.
ZR and Zippy I remember you talking about them a couple summers ago when I saw you. I’ve also read when you post about them it’s definitely the way to go, though I’m not sure how much lapping my fox...
1988 mustang. Stock k member and control arms. MM caster camber plates, oem shocks, sportline springs
On any bumpy road the ride quality is terrible. One day I’d like to get tubular control arms...
Right. I think a lot of trim is black plastic, using trim paint is just to freshen them up from fading. The mirrors must be painted, as they always end up like yours. Maybe they should’ve clear...
The only things I can see that make SEM trim paint special are that it doesn't require a primer(debatable) and that it is flexible, but the mirror isn't a piece that flexes. I can't see how trim...
I got all the parts but it looks like the job won’t happen until next season. I’ll update then. Thanks again everyone.
It’s not even this tool! It’s just the plastic cap looking thing. It has an ID and an OD, one for hammering on the sleeve and one for hammering in the seal. I did a lot of reading and apparently it’s...
